I'd look for one with s-video, DTS, and an optical output if you plan on hooking it up to a reciever.

The ones on a computer suck major resources, and if you push it too hard with fast changes to fastforward etc. it will even lockup my 1gig 128sd Dell. And no matter how big a computer monitor is, it's not like kickin back instead of sitting up to watch Gladiator, or Austin Powers or whatever. But your probably getting one that connects to a tv.

Progressive scan is new, and looks way better, but it is still kind of expensive. Most dvd players now all offer the same features. But you definitely want svid outputs, component outputs, dts, and make sure that it does play cdrs if you are going to also use it as a cd player(most do). Also make sure it has optical and or coaxial outs for your audio. It depends on what your receiver, or processor offers as to which connection to use. If you need any more info just shoot me an email and I can help as necessary.
