Hazing is fun, I'd say 99% of fraternities haze pretty hard, yet nobody ever finds out about it, thats the best part. Every now and then you will hear about a frat who made a pledge drink a beer or some shit, then they get kicked off campus, shit if they only knew what goes on behind closed doors. Just thought I would spread the word that Hazing is as alive and here to stay, no matter what you are brainwashed to hear. So for all you fish who are thinking about pleding. HAVE FUN!!!! My frat claims they dont really "haze" but we still haze their balls off once we trick em. Every frat i know of at my uni. hazes, sometimes it gets out once somethin bad happens. Dumbasses. | ||

I will go out on a limb and say my pledge class was hazed worse than anyone. I knew it was all mind games and bullshit, but now that I look back on no one was seriously hurt and it really brought us close together. On a sad note, not everyone is that lucky. Someone died as a result of a head injury just recently at my chapter. Not sure if he was a pledge or what, I graduated last May so I'm not there anymore. I guess we need to be more careful. | ||

I'll just cite a couple of examples of stuff you have to eat in some frats---
{laxatives}---used my most of all frats, pledges must drink quite a bit, every night during hell week, but not allowed to shit, they have to hold it. {anchovies} & {anchovie paste}--anchovie paste is known to make you hallucinate after a while, so they will spread the shit under your nose and your not allowed to take it off, you sure as hell don't want to lick it off, its damn disgusting. {dirty beer}--tons of frats make you drink beer after it has run down the ass of someone or all of your pledge brothers. {raw squid}---I knew a plege who had to hold a squid against his dick in his pants for 4 days, then on the last day, all the pledges exchanged squids and had to eat them.

We had to fight to initiate. Very long week. Mainly we were football players and other jocks in the frat, so we knew how much we and others could take safely. Nothing got out of hand, just a few busted noses and bruises. We didn't even do any drinking. Those were the days. Can't do it anymore. The school cracked down on the guys and threatened to kick them off campus because they were all bruised up in their classes. I guess the old line "I got that injury from practice" didn't wash anymore. It's probably for the best anyways...how we avoided suing the hell out of each other I'll never know. | ||

After taking an actually pretty cool trip to Memphis with our pledge brothers drinking... We got back that night and all the lights were off in the frat house only candles leading us downstairs, at that time we didnt know shit about the house. It was the basement. They told us to remove anything valuable that we had on, nice shirts, watches, etc... Then they turned down the lights real low, and told us that 5 pledges MUST quit tonight, no matter what. So they tolded one way to get rid of dead weight is to see who can and cannot fight. So they told us to just start throwing blows... Here I was coming in after hanging out and getting to know these guys, and I have to turn right around and hit one of them. Needless to say it was the most vivid memory I have of pledging... BTW, 9 guys out of 40 quit that night... ------------------ | ||

I pledged a fraternity up in NewEngland back in the late 80's. One example i'll give you of the hazing i went through during the 3rd day of hell week at about 2 a.m. in february my pledge class got marched out of the house totally naked about 10 degrees below zero. we had to lay in about 3 feet of snow for about 10-15 minutes, then had to lineup facing the house as we had iceball thrown at us, only to be marched back in the house to the bathrooms where we had to get into the tub packed with ice and freezing cold water, as water was being dumped on us! That totally sucked. | ||

No offense personally, batman, but I just have to laugh at that. Was whatever you got in return for that really worth it? Was it "fun?" Do you feel proud? No one held a gun to your head, so I assume that you did such foolish acts willingly. What could possibly possess you to do such things? I would have quickly given a hearty "fuck you buddy" and gone home if told to march outside naked at -10 degrees. Then again, I would have probably never been put in such a situation, knowing the ridiculous and absurd things that fraternity pledges are "required" to do. Yeah sure I wanted to turn around and fucking pop a few brothers, but then again I was'nt about to walk out and be laughed at and be labeled a quiter either. Now that I look back on it it was stupid. I'm still to this day best friend with 20 or so of my fraternity brothers! | ||

A fraternity was caught hazing at my school because they beat the hell out of this pledge (it was a black frat, Alpha Phi Alpha). Anyway, his dad was a bigshot in the state police and did a surprise visit the next day. He saw his kid all ruffed up and knew he had his initiation night (I forget what they call it) the night before. He had an investigation done and found all the pledges were beat up. That was 3-4 years ago and that frat still is gone. ------------------ |
