i cant wear my contacts... had em 8 months, wore em maybe 5 times... i see double on the roads, colors are all fucked up... it sucks... i also cant put them in or take them out...

NIGHT VISION GLASSES??? do you like the coating? mine have come off on each pair... it sucks, they leave spots...

where do you get your glasses? are they reasonable priced? or mall prices (300+ per pair)???

i wear contacts the majority of the time. I suggest you find a different optomertrist (sp?) and get your eyes checked again, because you should NOT have problems like that with good contacts.

True, some people just can't wear contacts, but if that was true for you, I am sure your doctor could have figured that out and not given you contacts in the fiirst place.

Anyway, my glasses are shitty, and my visdion hs changed enough to start bothering me now, so I will be getting my eyes checked again soon. I would say that frames at the mall are NOT worth the price

Unless, they are designer and only sold to a specific location in your area, find some frames you want and buy them online, then have the prescription lenses put in them.

much cheaper by far,,,,,

hope i could help

I agree with Dread Lady. Find a new optometrist and get your eyes tested again. I wear contacts and have for 5 years. Never had a problem with them.

Are contacts better than glasses?

I've worn contacts for quite a while now, maybe 6 years. I have no problem whatsoever with them, they are extremely comfortable, easy to take out , put in, etc. Maybe try a different type of contacts, like a disposable, non disposable, different brand......They are great for me, I never have even though about the laser correction stuff just because my contacts are the same thing essentially just with putting them in in the morning, and taking em out at night, and that is no hassle whatsoever

I've been wearing contacts for 17 years and have never had a single problem. In fact, I cant wear glasses cause my peripheral isnt that great and glasses just make it worse..I wind up walking into walls andstuff. Cant drive at all with specs on..theyre just for home when my eyes are really tired.

I am close to being legally blind...if I take my "eyes" out (as my mother calls my contacts) I cannot see anything except blurs of colors and if my specs arent where I put them then I have to send the boy to hunt for them. Of course theyre usually about 5 feet away but I cant see them.

I've worn contacts and glasses for 25 years and am an optometrist now. If your drs are charging you 300+ for contacts then your RX must be difficult to fit. Most wearers pay alot less for contacts. If you print out your presciption for me to look at, I can tell you more.Night driving glasses are usually for people with high astigmatisms-as the sun goes down your pupils enlarge and makes your astigmatic correction even worse causing blurriness. Usually easy to fix. The spots on the glasses lenses are probably from an anti-reflective coating that shows all smudges etc. but helpful for driving at night to reduce glare of oncoming headlights. Someone should have explained all this to you at some point...

OS 8.3 15.0 -1.50 -4.25x180

od -1.50 -5.00 x 014
os -1.50 -4.50 x 171

Sorry to say- your RX is so unusual that the lenses have to be made specially for you. In DC the cost would run $380-410 pr.Your astigmatism is 4-5 times higher than average which is what is causing higher $$$ and poor vision when you wear glasses (maybe). Are you wearing contacts or glasses during the day?..you're wearing something, right?

I have a love-hate relationship with my contact lenses ... I wear them only when I leave my apartment ... the rest of the time, I wear my glasses.

I wear Bausch & Lomb (sp?) brand ... extended wear (change them every 30 days).

and people thought i was full of shit!

providian, wanna hear some funny shit? i am 27 years old, i did NOT wear ANYTHING from 4th grade until i was 25!!! the only reason i got them to start was for the fashion value, that and people complaining about not being able to see shit. they all made fun of me "hey jay, whats that sign say"? uh, didnt know till i was next to it

i wear glasses now, just bought some from walmart tonight... crisp 120 dollars!!! dirt cheap and i like the frames a lot. beats mall prices anyday.

mall wants 135 for the script alone!!!! ahhahahahahaha

Madbomber- glad you've got glasses and I'm guessing the Wal-martians put your RX in them
correctly- I can't believe you didn't wear glasses for so many years after seeing your RX tonight. If you haven't been wearing glasses regularly it might take a couple days to adjust, but if the vision isn't totally clear after a week let me know. You need great glasses with your RX and I'd gladly fix you up with some.

Contacts rock! I've had them for about five years now without any problems. I leave them in for about 7-8 months straight, sleeping, showering, everything. Never have a problem getting them out or with them bothering me. I'll never go back to glasses again. Been to the eye doctor a few times and my eyes are still the same as when I got the contacts, so obviously leaving them in like this isn't having any effect on my eyes.
