Does anyone here smoke (cigarrettes)? I think it hinders my gains. Anyone agree/disagree?

Don't smoke at all. I think it would hinder your gains, but I'm not an expert on the correlation between cigarette smoke and bodybuilding.

I smoke...previously like a chimney..now much less. It certainly hinders your stamina, but I never had much anyway....

kat you know what they say "She smokes she pokes!"

I have asthma and I guarantee if any smoker had to deal with this shit they would be a little more appreciative and give the shit up. Remember, cancer cures cigarette addiction.

I'm not going to preach to you about smoking. You know it's bad for you. Quit, don't quit, none my business.

Many years ago, in my younger days, I smoked.
Could not gain size in arms and legs.

Every doc, trainer, BB, I talked to said it is way more difficult to make gains in the extremities b/c of smoking. I'm no doc, but when I quit, my arms and legs took off.
Nicorette gum works too....
Just sharing the experience. have a great weekend everyone! Peace....

I used patches to help me give up.

Before then it was my routine to have a smoke first thing in the morning, and another couple before going to the gym. Often at the gym I would go outside for a sneaky puff halfway during my workout.

I think that my health and my workouts would have suffeered immensely had I not quit.

Totally hindered my gains. And my recouperation time between sets took longer. For most people Cigarettes are an appetite suppressant. You will eat more when you quit, why do you think so many people gain weight when they stop smoking?? THEY EAT! You should gain some weight when you quit, just make sure you eat good I guess.
