I've put some ice on it but I can BARELY fucking walk. This really fucking sucks!!

How fast did it take you guys to heal and what kind of methods did you use to recover?

I'm in my 5th month of trying to heal and just threw it back out again today
Just go light for a loooooong time....when you are feeling good and want to go heavy again just try to remember that you still have a healing back and be smart. I am not sure if mine will ever fully heal to where I will be able to go very heavy like I used to

Freak, I have had plenty of injuries with back being one of them, most of the time ice and electro stimulation along with a topical ultrasound device should be utilized. The best option however would be rest and avoiding the exercises that cause pain. Your going to have to be patient, the next few days arent going to be good ones. Be sure to Ice the area as often as possible and if heat is going to be used make sure it is liquid heat(hot water) and not a heating pad, dry heat irritates the area. Rest will be your best friend. peace

Your the only one who will know that answer. A big warning: dont be stupid and make this worse because its just going to prolong the problem, maybe its serious, maybe it isnt, if anything train your chest and Legs and you just got done with legs so your cool for several days, keep up your diet even increase the protein if you take a few days off, be patient and learn from this. peace

Freakmonster, I strained my shoulder last summer during an abomb run and you don't want to compound the problem buy jumping back in too quickly. Take Havoc's advice, it's the best you will get.

Yes. I am almost complete with my recovery from 4 type II muscle injuries and 2 type I.

It's been almost 6 months, would have probably been 2 if I'd known what to do. Listen to havoc, and go see a therapist.

Jacked mine up last summer doing hack squats. Sharp jolt of pain right on my backbone. It hurt so bad I had to go home. I could not sleep for shit for about a week cause every time I moved I would wake up in agony. I could do other lifts a few days later like bench, but no heavy legs, and no shrugs (which was wierd) for like a month! Sucked dick. I even thought I was completely healed and went in and did smith shrugs and was back to square one. Fucked me up all over again so be careful and avoid any excercise that hurts and stick to the others that don't.

MS,

Use the Smith Machine and do front squats...it forces you to use perfect form, and there is no way you can bring your lower back into play...give'm a try....also lunges on the same machine as well....I'll never be able to do regular squats again, but my legs still look pretty decent with what I do....Good Luck!!!
