There's this retard in one of my classes that claims he is a genius. The guy is funny as hell of course because he is about 6' tall, weighs (according to him) 120 lbs. has massive dandruff, 5 large scars on his face, ("I got in a fight with a dog") duck lips and an ego. The best part is that he is still below average, and I tried to explain to him that it was impossible to go from mentally handicapped to genius, but I "don't have proof." Anyway, does anyone know any facts about raising IQ level throughout your lifetime? Is it even possible to raise it at all?

impossible to raise is drastically.. under normal circumstances (im saying without a physical cause) you can raise it a few points by learning certain tricks thogh ------------------

Intelligence is over-rated. I spent my whole childhood labeled as "super gifted" or something because I did real well on those tests. This sucks because people always are expecting you to succeed in everything, and you can't "waste" your time doing fun stuff. Honestly those tests are a crock. They just can't measure any of the non-academic gifts that people may have.

there's a few schools of thought on IQ tests. the one that's gaining the most ground is that the only thing an IQ test measures is your ability to complete an IQ test. but i think that's a backlash to the blind faith people used to put in them. however, the sort of questions that can be asked in them IMO can be relatively easily trained for. go to a few online IQ testing places, and to the Mensa site, and do all their tests. you'll notice they involve a series of numerical and linguistic problems (number order, revolving shapes, anagrams etc.) which are really easy to get used to and highly repetitive - in other words, you can "train" to have a higher IQ. and if you take the same test more that once...too easy yer man sounds like he should be on uglypeople.com ------------------

Hehheh...I was a gifted child too that they wanted to put in special gifted classes at a special school. I chose as a child to live a completely normal life with my normal friends, and excel anyway. ------------------
