Yeah, it peeves me off that the Americans want to listen to crap like her and Sarah McDyke and Celine, and then complain about the music we put out when we have killer bands like The Tea Party, OLP, Tragically Hip (not now, but the Hip used to kill)...it burns my ass that this pathetic crap is what sells, and Im not even talking about my own music..I dont give a crap about that. It is a goddman shame that a band as great as the Tea Party gets put aside for some piece of shit garbage like the Barenaked Queers. | ||

No, I never said that she was like Britney Spears...she's an exact copy of Chantal Kreviazyk (sp) and nowhere near as good as Sarah McLaughlin. Its that girly singer/songwriter that annoys me, and if I wrote a song about how Im like a bird Id put a bullet in my head. With a song like that, intelligence is not a factor. And say what you will about Alanis, at least she has a vocabluary that spans words of more than two syllables. Though Mr. H, since you like her that's fine. Just realize the Canadian scene can do much better. | ||

Well, she's no Tori Amos, yet, but from what I've read she's a very smart and creative girl. First album is always about selling to the audience. Second album is when the real talent is displayed and the critics start bashing you. Third album is when you blow up. Fourth is called a "weak follow-up" by the critics.
