since when does one have to be religious to have a conscience? a person should be just and do things because they are moral and not out of fear of being punished by a greater force than themselves. being "atheist" does not define something as being immoral or with conscience. most current religions are based on the idea of unification of people. mostly because the idea that there is no greater force in the universe is scary and lonely. the fact that we are basically alone and "insignificant" is too much for any human to believe. I'm not claiming too nor I doubt any other atheist's do that we know the "answers to life" etc. etc.     |
