www.crimelibrary.com there is a board member on here that i know that fits the description of a serial killer/psycho a) he kills and tourchers animals b)likes to play with fire c)wet his bed often as a kid pretty freaked out stuff    | ||

I work with a lady who's son was a contract killer in the Chicagoland area. He had a pretty high profile murder trial in 1993. Younger guy who's awaiting death row (about 38 now), shot a lady 5 times in the face at close range for 50K. He was the best man this womans wedding. After finding out who her son was (the lady at work), I finally figured out why she's so irritbale and snaps so easily. She certainly defines evil.  | ||

Try not to just throw killers and "psychos" into one category. There are not even close to being the same thing. And what kind of psycho? A psychopath is simply a person with an extreme anti-social personality disorder. A psychotic person is a person who is detatched from reality (insane). I have met some that could fall into the first category. ------------------ | ||

My ex-boyfriend had a "killer" physique and when we broke up, he went "psycho" and gave me a broken nose. That's the best I can do. Sorry. | ||

that was a good point raised differentiating psychopath and psychotic. There are millions of psychopaths and technically most of the people on this board are - as for psychotic... well, that is a whole 'nother thing. When I was in the hospital for awhile my senior year of HS I met a whole bunch of psychotic people. Scary. And May - that just reinforces in my mind that I couldn't be gay (I'm not against the concept of me being gay, I've just never been aroused by a guy). ------------------ | ||

well there was this one guy...he took pictures of us while we were sleeping and then stuck them on his mirror at home. and i'm NOT joking. and in a sction attack, while everyone was running around (just cadets) he whipped out the camera and started snapping pictures. he suffered from mood swings and was in an institution ofr his childhood. i went to such a great school..... | ||

StoneColdGold is on the money. It's estimated that 1 in 25-30 people have ASP. 90% of these people are men. Very few sociopaths become serial killers. I'm sure there are quite a few sociopaths on this board but I'd say there are even more people on here with Narcissistic Personalty Disorder. The FBI estimates that there are about 30-45 serial killers operating in the United States right now. The number is increasing not only in the U.S. but worldwide as well. The symptoms thermo mentioned above are known as the triad of symptoms most serial killers had growing up. They should be considered red flags and they do not mean you are or will be a serial killer. Anti-social personality doesn't mean you're shy and not social in the sense that you don't like to go out, or associate with other people, and do not have a social life. It means you are anti-social in the sense that you do not like to conform to society and follow "their" rules. Many sociopaths are some of the most charming and social people you will ever meet. They make good politicians, businessmen, and world leaders. | ||

I work with offenders. Three of my previous clients have murdered since. One is awaiting trial (17 years old) one is in prison for killing a child (he was 18 when he did it) and one killed a patient in a mental hospital where he was. Only one of them surprsied me, the other 2 had mental health issues when i had them as clients. I have had several clients diagnosed with anti-social personality and similar. However some of these diagnosis can only officially be made once the individual turns 18, before this they are usaully technically described as other things such as conduct disorder, social/authority defiance...I predict some of my present clients have the potential to kill in the future, especially those with strong gang associations. It's freaky to deal with someone who has no conscience whatsoever. | ||

most serial killers aren't psycho in the t.v. sense of the word. they are just lonely or have an inferiority complex (read about bundy, dahmer, nielsen or gacy). Murdering/sex killing is the only way to satiate their needs. Acting weird isn't a sign of potential violence. besides, having those 3 characteristics isn't a sign that you will become a serial killer. someone with those 3 symptoms is more likely to become a company CEO than a serial killer. it was in the book "bad men do what good men dream". if you have those symptoms, you are very unlikely to progress to the level of serial killer. you will probalby just be an alcoholic, spousal abuser, or suicide. god bless america. | ||

I won't say that I know any "serial" killers, but I do know a few that have killed someone before. Some have served their time and are out, some aren't. You'd never know talking to these people what they've done unless someone tells you, which makes it kind of freaky. You could be sitting next to them at a bar and just never know. | ||

I used to live three (3) blocks away from Jeffrey Dahmer. The hotel in which he killed and hacked up his first victim was directly across the street from my apartment. I was also working in a bar that was directly across the street from where he worked -- several would come in for a few drinks during breaks and after work. ------------------ Because I want to . . . I know a guy who is schitzo...he volunteered this information to me. Spent time in the nuthouse and such. He seems completely normal and then bingo...he'll send me these long winded emails of how he would like to just walk down the street and kill people. I've kept a couple of them in case he goes off his nut and actually starts doing this stuff. Funny, even though Im terrified of him when he's like that I pretend not to be and tell him he's a crackhead and needs to snap out of it...its been working so far. | ||

I used to know this one really FREAKY fucker named Dan. He went to the same college as I did. Weird, weird, weird fucker. Gave me chills every time I saw him or spoke to him at a social event. His "hobby" was photography. He used to go out and photograph dead animals that had been killed on the road. I went to his house for a party one time and he had DOZENS of these pictures all over his apartment hanging on the walls -- he'd blown them all up to 8x10 size and matted them. He also had framed and matted pictures of Manson, Bundy, Gacey and several others. In his basement he had a cow skull that he had personally severed off a dead cow and stuck on the wall. Even more disturbing, I was friends with some girls that were friends with him -- they thought it was all an act -- he used to cut out pictures of knives from catalogs and make kitchen magnets out of them and give them to the girls. He'd also go through books, highlight certain words and passages throughout and give those to the girls too. I was soooo worried that this guy was going to hack them up some night... Oh, he also always used to talk about Satan all the time too. Creepy fucker. Finally, when I started getting big, I would put a very aggressive attitude torwards him and intimidate him everytime I saw him. He eventually started leaving the girls that I knew alone.
