Like it? Not like it? Why? Would you choose any other handgun over it? What would one expect to pay for one? ------------------ Copyright 2001 TheMachine Company, Inc.

They are ok. Too many internal parts to worry about cleaning or reparing. I can get one for 800-1K from my father-in-law. The gun's report is loud enough to scare off even the most beligerent. So if you have terrible aim it's a great gun to have.

Would you prefer it over a blue-steel .357 with fat grips and a target barrel?

I do not believe any handgun should be in a Calibur that high. I have shot it...and i'm a good shot. With this thing my groupings sucked and the recoil was crazy i almost buried the front sight in my forehead. My favorite handguns are made by H&K and Glock and i also like the browning highpower! ------------------

Not to mention you can't get a high cap mag for a calibur that high. ------------------

I fired the .44 cal version. Heavy mofo, but had good groupings at 15' and 25'. Way better than a revolver for kick and overall accuracy. I really like the Baby Eagles in 9mm. This is a great gun and rather affordable also. ------------------

Hey May, I see you're in San Fran! Wanna go shooting with me? Once you get into it, it's no longer a question of manhood...but of caliber ------------------

SS is right , they kinda suck out of the box as far as accuracy (in .357 , .44 , and .50AE ) So do the Kasuls i dont think the barrells are long enough to stabilize that hot and heavy load . ------------------

The Machine, You're implying that because I'm gay and a bottom, that I am less than a real man? I don't think that our sexuality determines whether we are masculine or feminine.
Where are you? If you're serious, I'd go to a firing range with you. Seems kind of boring though. Wouldn't you rather put on a pair of camoflage pants and go dance shirtless at Man-O-Rama?

Steelsoildier is dead on! The recoil is a little out of hand! The 44 shoots real nice. I never shot a 50 with the extended barrel, that may have helped. Plus the ammo is expensive for heavy range use. 357 Desert Eagles are the best bang for the buck. You can buy magnum loads and even reloads for the range. In Jersey they go for 900-1100.(standard finish)

I HATE Desert Eagles! The .50 shoots like shit, is too big to hold, expensive, and waaaaay overpriced. All the D.E. are a big waste of hard-earned $ 25 yd groups? Like 12". Its much better to hit your target with 1 smaller caliber round than to miss with a large bullet. I just got a Para p-10 10 rnds of .45 and it fits neatly in my whole hand. ------------------

I just sold a .50. I paid $1100 for it. Mine shot great. Ammo is high priced and the gun isn't practical. Go spend the same amount and get a quality .45 like a KIMBER. The kimber is the best auto I have fired in a long time. ------------------ God didn't create all men equal, steroids make

I would have to agree with the post above. I have two Kimbers and they shoot better out of the box than any production gun and better than many customs. You just can't beat the 1911 frame for accuracy and dependability. I have shot a few local tournaments with my gold match and I blew away all of the glocks, sigs, brownings, HKs, barettas and smiths. If you really want a gun with an impressive caliber look for a custom 1911 chambered for the 400 corbon. It is a 45 necked down to a 40 caliber. You can never go wrong with a Wilson Combat custom if you have that kind of money to spend. giantset ------------------

shoots like shit, slide wears out easily, but if you really want to scare someone just pull that baby, the mean size of the thing will scare the shit out of anyone ------------------

I am currently considering purchasing the D.E. package which includes all calibers, .357, .44 and of course .50 cal. I view it as more of a novelty firearm. I have heard from some that if you miss an intruder with the .50 cal you could potentially torch them with the muzzle blast. Anyway I will be looking at the model with the extended barrel. Is there anywhere that would install a built in laser sight? LOL

I worked for the company who made DI's here in the US. I also own the complete package (platform with all the 6 and 10" barrels) which I was able to peace together with the best parts I could come up with on the assembly floor. It's quite a show piece and fun to shoot but don't expect to hit anything other than the broad side of a barn with it unless you mount a scope which you can do to any US made caliber or just the Israelly 50 cal.. Basically they are not well made. Too much slop in the slide and barrel due to shitty design tolerences and the 357's and even some 44's jam because the recoil springs are too heavy. You have to keep an ultra stiff forearm while shooting to avoid the jam. They are also bulky and cumbersome to handle when hunting or plinking. Not too ramble but I wouldn't waste my money. They go for about $1200 for a .50 out of the box and the extras are over priced as well. You might be able to find a decent used one for about $900.

It is to big for me. I am deadly accurate with my s/w .357 4" stainless and believe me I don't miss. One shot one kill. Prices start around 1200 or more. I have fired it several times and it is not for me. I won't even try to do a .44 or a .454 casull. No need to. A .357 will blow a head completely off, Enough said.

The best shooting 45 was a Les Bear Custom. Great grouping and never jams.
Elite Bodybuilder Posts: 630 |
dahmer, that is interesting that you mention that since I was looking into getting a Les Bear not too long ago. I was told by many competitive shooters as well as some gunsmiths and guys in the industry that since Les Bear has been racing cars, his business has turned to shit. I heard he has a bunch of 20 year old wannabe gunsmiths building his customs now and it is a toss-up as to whether your Les Bear Custom will fall apart or not. I looked into getting an Ed Brown or a Wilson Combat but I settled for another Kimber and was not disappointed. giantset ------------------

THeMaCHinE, Bro i wish i had the i have only used the 44 version found it nice and accurate but found the grip was a little uncomfy due to the size but still nice we where knocking down man size falling plate's at 80 yards with it made me smile But due to the mag capacity and speed i would rather a 9mm such as a glock or a beretta i like speed and accuracy and a 9mm with hydra-shockk rounds seems to do the trick quite nicely However it does look kool when you have a cannon in your hand's As a off subject but related to guns has anyone got a shot gun (Unchoked) if you have try this as this is much betta for stopping people.
The cuts should look like this _____------______ this then when fired in your unchoked gun seperates the top away from the botton of the cartridge which means the whole top bit go's down the barrel this then gets seprated away from the shot when it hit's the target very impressive for anti personel a Ex SAS guy showed me that one...!
Basicly it will not carry on going once it hits the target as the plastic peal's back and all the shot goes in...! it's like shooting somone at point blank range but you have a range of about 80 to 100 yards...! ------------------
