Are you talking about how if you take every 5th word, or every 22nd letter or something? There is a webpage out there with mathematical proof that you can find that in any book. They found the same stuff in moby dick and the like, you just need a dense enough text and you can get it. the bible is just another long book of stories, nothing special. ------------------ | ||

I think there was someone who did the same thing with Moby Dick. He found codes that supposedly predicted Hitler and Stalin. I'll try to find the paper. Personally, I think if you look hard enough, you can probably find anything in any text. | ||

Johnny, I've been running some regression analysis and predictive curves at home on the code..kind of a hobby of mine. Anywho, I have yet to come up with statistical proof of the firm existance of the code. However it does have a better corellation than any other text sets. ------------------ | ||

Problem with any bible code is this: 1.) Multiple versions with slightly different text; King James, LDS etc. 2.) Translation: fact is, if you're looking for a code in an English translation of any bible, you're wasting time. None of the original texts were written in English. 3.) Integrity. Only the absolutely original works (the papyrus written on by each apostle) could possibly contain any valid code. Each iteration and translation would have slight variances rendering any mathematical code inert. But the concept, is interesting. And if any gets into the Vatican or the Salt Lake Temple to look for codes is certainly very lucky. | ||

The veracity of the context of the bible has never been part of the topic. The actual topic is about possible codes within the text of the bible. I think the bible is only scarey to people who do not understand it. (Since we have begun to stray off-topic) | ||

The people doing this research run the actual program only on the ancient hebrew version of the first part of the bible. English translations don't enter into it. |
