School is starting to get on us about colleges and what not. I know what I want to, attorney, and I took the only 2 law classes my school offered and aced them. Questions I got...

-What other classes should I take?

-Regarding SAT scores what score, on average, is needed to get into undergrad school and what else is taken into consideration?

Shit, figures when I get the time to make this post I draw a blank. I'll add more as they come back to me.

Well, not to start a "my college is better than yours" - but if you really want to get into a good law school - don't go law undergrad. if you have the grades and the stadardized test scores, then get into one of the top Liberal Arts schools and then you can go wherever the hell you want from there.

When I was in high school, I was vacillating between wanting to be an orthopedic surgeon and a lawyer. I even interned at a law firm after high school and before college. my first year of school, I wanted to be a chem major, then wanted to be math and comp sci, then wanted psych and then eventually chose art. I now am a computer programmer.
my point being that you will change your mind a lot - if you go to a small liberal arts school, you benefit from being able to learn a broad range of things (so that if you bail on one major, any of the ohters will still get you through life), and you get better teaching from small class sizes.
This is opposed to going to some school because they have the best undergrad law program, or because you love their football team. also, universities are good if you don't have much money, but they can suck for learning b/c a majority of your classes will be huge (like in auditoriums) and will be taught by TAs that are grad students doing research for the prof. it is highly likely that English will not be their first language. even Harvard is like this. Harvard is very har to get into - but very easy once you are there. is sucks for undergrad - but it has a big name. if you go there for law afterwards, then they are great (Yale is the best and if you want to do patent/copyright stuff, Stanford is next).

as far as standardized tests go - when I graduated high school, it was prior to the SAT score weighting changes. back then it was in the 1400's but that would be a lot higher now. I also took the ACTs and can't remember if I got a 32 or 34 - it was 2 under whatever the highest you can get is.
(the PSATs and whatever the eqiv for ACTs are a pretty lousy judge of how you will do - I got perfect scores on both and didn't on the real things - they are waay easier - the pre's)

or you can go to a party school, blow about half the money, learn jack shit, but get a laid a lot. that is good if you want to go into sales and/or marketing - you will make good social connections that you will want to utilize later.

look at us news and world reports, and barrons. they do good reports of what grades and scores you need to get in, and all sorts of other stats - and I think even average starting salary of students that graduate and with what majors - as well as what schools then they go to for post grad work as well.

have fun.
