Flexed1 -- I am from Nashville. Moved here about three years ago from Boston. Definetely takes some getting used to, but if you stay near the city it is bearable. There are a number of transients here and the quality of life seems to be getting better each year due the growth rate and increased industry. If you have any specific questions, let me know. ------------------ Because I want to . . . Because I have to . . . Because I need to . . . Because I can! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nashville is definetely not New York, Boston, LA, Miami, etc. However, it is like any other average size city -- it is what you make of it. Takes some getting used to and you do have your share of rednecks (just like anywhere else), but as I indciated above -- the north is definetely making its presence known. I actually know every few people that are from TN living in Nashville. With the resent addition of the Titans and the Predators, industries are flocking to Nashville creating an economic boom. The night life is not great -- bars are extremely boring and there are no great clubs. As for hardcore bodybuilders -- there are maybe a handful, but not very many. I take pride in knowing that I am one of the few. ------------------ Because I want to . . . Because I have to . . . Because I need to . . . Because I can! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

i have lived here all my life so i can't compare it to bigger cities like NY, but it certainly is a diverse crowd in the city, especially around the vanderbilt campus. theres always something to do, clubs, concrets, bars...it probably would take a few weeks to get used to, but i love it. ![]() ![]() ![]()

get ready to take a big step down in the slower lane of life. I could not picture living there. I am quite spoiled with fast paced cities, living in Atlanta, spending summers in London and trekking to Ft. Lauderdale and NYC each month. I would be bored silly in Nashville, You would see me on the 6 oclock news by the second week. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

ok.... your from where? if its a remotely large town in the north.... DONT FUCKING DO IT!!!! tman said he has been there 3 years? well, i am betting it was hard work lasting that long and getting used to it.. djane has NOTHING to compare that hellhole to. (and dont fucking hit on her!!!) madbomber says jobs are for southern people. they definitely look down on northerners if they are from there, however like was said its pretty diverse now... but i still did not meet ONE interesting male person to hang out with. FUCK NASHVILLE!!!! i am from detroit (burbs) and nashville is different... thats all i can say, its different. the job market goes through temp services... the ONLY way i would go to nashville (i wont, just saying) is if i had a super stable job that paid well and i did not live in south east nashville. i'd feel much more comfortable where i could speak and have everyone understand me... i dont speak spanish. uh, i must say though, i LOVED downtown... it was so quaint and safe... it was still a city but didnt feel like it.
quite a few gyms to join though, but prissy fuckers in them all. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I lived there for 5 years, but that was 13 years ago, and I think it has grown and changed a lot since then. It's not New York or Chicago, but neither is 99% of the U.S., and it's not the podunk town people are making it out to be. I really loved it. It's relatively sophisicated, because of the many universities there, and the music scene (not just country) is excellent. Not sure about the BBing scene..probably average. Cost of living is not bad. It was not to big, not too small, just right. A good combination of everything, in my opinion. The thing I most remember about Nashville is how friendly it was. (Well, I guess anywhere is freindlier than this rude hellhole i live in now, Washington, DC.) Very few snobs like in the bigger cities. There was sort of a good combination of some big-city sophistication with a sane pace of life. I miss Nashville! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

All I can add tothis thread is the fact that I love Tn. I am an east tennessean, so I can't give you any useful info as far as Nashville is concerned. Madbomber I'll miss ya man. I hope you get out soon, because you really are not comftorable here are you. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Well nice replys. I ahve lived in dallas, san francsico, tampa, orlando, houston, and tahoe. most of these are not big cities and I grew up in New York and hated it . The job would be with a very large comapny and i would make bank. That said the quality of life is imporatnt and I am not a bar person to often though i go out on weekends sometimes. I love to fish and there is pleanty of water so we will see. Austin is also possible. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

STORM- i got out the day my lease ran out... i must add one important fact... if you are single, the girls there LOOK very very nice! i must say the southern girls take the cake in the looks and sweetness department. so if that matters, thats a huge plus... now you said the job would be with a large company... my biggest problem was the job i took to get me there ended up being a shit job with shit bosses who ass fucked me with no lube.... if i had made better money and lived in a better complex nashville would not have gotten 7 thumbs down from me. you will see lots of nice tits, and great asses... a plus in any mans book. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Madbomber you made a really good point -- it has been a struggle living here for the past three years. However, one can get adjusted. I have to disagree with your comment on the workforce. A lot of industry is moving into Nashville. However, that industry is not from the Tennessee area. Businesses from the north, east coast and west coast are popping up all over. What they want are people with drive and dedication. I work for a multi-billion dollar corporation who's corporate headquarters are located in nashville. My entire department is made up of people from the north or the east coast. I am in no way defending Nashville -- if the right opportunity came along I would definetely move without thinking twice. However, it does have its good points. ------------------ Because I want to . . . Because I have to . . . Because I need to . . . Because I can! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
