We talk about several topics here, and I was wondering how often do you guys go to the church? To tell you the truth, I rarely go to the church or make a prayer, but I believe in God. I am spiritual.

Hellion, This is a topic that I rarely see brought up. I am not sure how you would classify my position as far as religion and spirituality. I have made many attempts to establish relationships or at least get to know god. But I have way to many doubts and questions, just as anyone does. I don't know I think it would be nice to belive in god. Man, anyway this is complicated. I suppose you can say I'm a searcher.

Religion of Individuality. Come on, do you think God is going to say "Hmmm... lets see, I want that church, that church, this one and that one over there."

I used to be a devoted christian. I used to go to church like 4 times a week. Now I realize its nothing more than business for them. They don't really care about your soul. And God does not seem to answer prayers. That is just my personal experience.

M.C.C - Metropolitan Community church - that's protestant with a special emphasis on the gay community I go every Sunday and I'm on the board of directors God does answer prayers, but sometimes the answer is "no".

I follow the philosophy of Objectivism, which was set forth by the Russian-American author Ayn Rand, in books like 'Atlas Shrugged,' and 'The Fountainhead." It is based on rational selfishness, reason, ethics, and leads to pure Laissez-Faire Capitalism as its politico-economic system... As far as religion, I am a self-decribed agnostic, meaning I only believe that which I know as fact...however I never completely disregard any idea, since I'm always looking out for number one, ME! Spiritually, I honestly believe that what goes around comes around...only 10-fold! ------------------

I used to go to church, a couple of different ones over the past 16 years I would say about 4, but the problems i incurred or should i say found to be prevelent in church is that: we as unholy vessels are being taught the devine truth of god by another unholy vessel! no matter who the person doing the teaching (preaching) they are not perfect either, so what seems to be delivery of a holy devine truth is preached by a person that is full of sin. I kind of find this ironic, and i feel that this is one of the reasons some people loose their trust in churches, so I no longer go, I do believe but I can't find any churches that are honest enought to confront this problem.

I am Unitarian Nice post Badkins, with a concise definition of Objectivism... However, I think agnosticism is better explained as a system in which one does not claim knowledge of the existence of a higher power, and likewise, one does not discount the existence of a higher power; your definition expressed a belief in only that which one knows for a fact...agnosticism contemplates that absolute knowledge of a higher power is impossible, regardless of the "facts" as you or I understand them Let me guess...are you, politically, a Libertarian? How's that law degree coming?

Ferrus, you hit the nail on the head, bro, I voted for Harry Browne in the election (the Libertarian candidate)... I'm waiting for Mr. Roarke (guy on board/character in 'The Fountainhead') to chime in on this one... ------------------

When I use to go, I was Lutheran, but when you think about it, church is kind of like a middle man, I dont need a middle man to have a relationship with God.....My .02 ------------------ Anger is a gift...Zack(RATM)

I was catholic growing up, but I have some serious issues about some of the beliefs and teachings. Now I attend a non-dinominational church. The pastor puts a whole new spin on things. Puts religion into everyday life -- something that I can understand. ------------------ Because I want to . . . Because I have to . . . Because I need to . . . Because I can!

Religion is the worst invention in the history of man. It has caused more problems and killed more people than anything else. Too many people can't handle someone else having an opinion that isn't the same as theirs. Fucking evil, should be done away with altogether. People should be strong enough to do what is right on their own, not because something higher said so. Just be good and don't hurt others, if it ain't right, it ain't right.
