Oh great...men once again get to gaily go about pretending to look for food while the woman has to lug around the hut, carry the kids, wash the dishes...and the guy gets to say "look honey, heres a wild pig and it took me two days to find it!" In college I relied heavily on women to keep me fed, by me clothes, wash them, dryclean, shit even for presents for other people. Although its easy and fun, now that I make my own cash - I dont think Id want to rely on anyone else again. Cap, I dated an extremely wealthy girl for about 6 months a few years ago. She came from a family that had been in the US for a few hundred years - her family was worth over $300million. She was beautiful too - 5-11, blond hair, blue eyes...athletic I was in the Army at the time so you know I had little cash. Anyway, our typical "dates" would be to fly somewhere for a weekend, stay in expensive hotels, eat $250 meals, etc. Obviously she was paying. I was in Columbus, GA at the time...we went to New Orleans, Key West, not exotic - but I really couldn't get a whole lot of time away due to miltary life, but if I had a few days in a row we were out of town..... We dated for like 5 months, and then she dropped the bomb. (Not the pregnant bomb, the other one). She told me she wanted to travel in Asia for a while, like 6 months...ostensibly "just because she could". So she asked if I wanted to come with her. I reminded her that I was in the military, although I joked that there was a way out. I found out it would have been $58,000 to get out. She asked me if I wanted to - she would have cut the check and taken me to Asia with her. (Last I heard she was in Japan - that was a while ago). And she was dead serious. I told her, "no thanks"....but I wonder what would have happened if I did it. LET THERE BE NO DOUBT, MY CAPTAIN, THAT I COULD HAVE CONTINUED TO LIVE LIKE THAT. I only wonder what would have happened if things got more serious. | ||

I rely on no one to take care of me financially. I have made it on my own and know that every dime in my bank account is due to my efforts. I would go out of my way to stay away from women with deep pockets. My philosophy is simple, be your own bread winner. When my wife married me I was broke. I was one of those guys who squeezed the nickel until the buffalo shit. Now, however I live an extremely comfortable lifestyle and know that my relationship is real. Keep on looking, theres somebody out there for all of us. LOL | ||

this topic turned quite sad very fast. Not to give anyone the wrong impression, I am not with my girlfriend because she has money, but rather for who she is. Yes she is rich, I have had many highly expensive gifts from her, but I didn't seek her out just for her money. She happens to be a wonderful person who just happens to be wealthy. If you seek out someone just for $ you can better believe that they will control you with it. I have seen it too many times. Capt if you think you will swing from vine to vine, how are you going to ever get ahead? Do you think the lady is just going to give you enough to make her leave you? Yeah, you may get clothes, jewelry, cars - I got all those from mine, but if I were to leave her, I would lose a lot more than I have gained. If you look at the gifts as "gaining" | ||

My question for Capt is - Just how are you going to go about meeting and getting a rich girl to fall for you??? I mean it is not like they are just hanging out on the corner you know. I am curious to know how you are going to find them, as it has been all my experience that the wealthy move in an exclusive circle that is restricted to most everyone else. And typically if they are single, it is the other males in that move in the same circles that will have first shot at her. | ||

Before Gabby I considered such a thing .. dated for money, they were usually older .. I felt I was being paraded around like a trophy. Everyone assumed I was a pretty no-brained person. It got old QUICK. The result was I hooked up with someone who dropped fries at burger king, and we've been together for 11 years. Though NOW we are the ones that are well off. | ||

Capt, if you remained friends with that one, you best find another circle to move in. Nothing causes contempt as much as former ex's dating friends. best to enter a circle anonymously and have people to learn about you, rather than have people who already know about you. That is what I did. After my first GF, I removed myself from that circle and sought out another one. Although they follow another pattern and occassionally overlap, I enjoyed newcomer status in the second one. | ||

Yes, that is precisely the goal I have - to make my husband a kept man. I will earn ALL the money and in return, all he has to do is take care of the house and our children.
