I have algebra2a right now, I hate that class so much. It's boring and it just happens to be 7th peroid. I'm always about to fall asleep in there and my damn calculator won't perform one of the functions that it is supposed to. I'm gonna fail it!!

There ya go!
That's the attitude!
I know this isn't "math chat", but I got all 100's back in high school in math, so what's giving you trouble and we can all tell you an easier way to do it or remember it.
I don't remember even having to program my calc to remember shit, although most of my friends did it to cheat.

ok see if you can solve this

X + 7 = 14

if you can get that you should be smooth sailing.

No its not shit like that wiseguy its stuff like 3*the square root of 6 to the second power divided by your mom, it sucks

Or 5 cubed divided by your longest ass hair times 2. It sucks.

ahh, see this is part of your problem.
aside form being an idiot that isn't willing to slow down and look at the problem - your variable names are all screwed up.
that and in order to solve for these, you need to have the equation equal to something.

so let's say we want to find the value of "my mom" in that first one. it is just as easy as the one that supersizeme posted.
3*(sr6^2)/myMom (from your wording, it isn't clear if the square root of 6 is raised to the second power - which would then negate the square root - and then divided by my mom - or if the 2 is divivded by my mom)

now that this is broken down, the way I wrote it above, it is (3*6)/(myMom) = unknown - let's say unknown is X.
If we then solve for my mom, that means we have to multiple both sides then by my mom, so that negates my mom on the left side, - leaving 18=X*myMom.
you can then multiply 1/X on both sides so that it gets negated off the right and sent over to the left. thereby, according to your formula, my mom is equal to 18/X. that means that as X approaches infinity, my mom approaches nil, and as X approaches zero, my mom approaches infinity.

I can solve the other one for you too if you want - but they are always easier if you have a better equation.

What is the equation to finding this measurement.

Picture a right angle triangle.
The height is 10inches.
The length is 10inches.
What is the length of the diagonal line?

I need to know the formula. I havent taken a math class in years,...

well i'd write it out if the keyboard would allow me too, I do not know how to type it all out on here. But i know that my calculater will not take a number to the nth root. Yeah sleep with the teacher, he's like 40 and married lol. Oh that explains why all the girls in my class have a's.

come on! this is the most basic trig.
okay, A^2 + b^2 = c^2
so 100+100=c^2
c = 14.142135623730950488016887242097
so the square root of 200 is what you are looking for.
there are standard ones like 3,4,5 and stuff like that.
if you want to know the area, it is each side times the other, and then divided by 2. yours in this case is only half a perfect square, so that is easy.

for any triangle:

the variant is either the sine rule or the sosine rule

sine rule

a/sin A = b/sin B = c/sin C

where a, b and c are sides of triangle and A, B and C are angles

if u don't have the info needed for this

cosine rule

a squared = b squared + c squared - 2*b*c*Cos A

algebra sucks. thank god i'm rid of it

how's this:
"just check out the girls while you're dropping ass because you slept with the teacher"
or
"sleep with your ass and drops girls like your teacher"

Algebra? Please. The only excuse for failing Algebra is either you were paying absolutely no attention and never studied, or you're just plain dumb. I'm hoping that you are the former, garza. It's really not that hard.

When you take advanced stuff like Calculus II or the shit that I'm taking now (Discrete Mathematics), you'll wish you had that Algebra to fool with.

If the complement of B is a subset of the complement of A, show that A is a subset of B. Have fun with that one. It raped me on my quiz today.

I got Algebra II now and have a final coming up next Wednesday, I think. Its nowhere near as bad as Geometry in my opinion. Algebra is proven to help you get by in life. You may never need to use a quadratic formula ever again, but the deductive reasoning of how you got the answer is supposed to be applied to real life or something like that.

Don't worry about memorizing formulas, they should, key word should, give you the formulas on the test. My teacher gives us the formulas b/c he believes in real life situations you can always look up the info if your unsure, so instead of doing what most teachers do [make us memorize the shit] for the test he makes highschool be what its supposed to be. A microcosim [think thats the right word] of society. If thats the wrong word its supposed to mean a smaller version of the real world.

I have no advice to give ya, but to keep doing the type of problems over and over till it becomes second nature.

Dude, I failed Algebra and still got into a top 10 college. All you need to do is make up lots of philantropic sounding extra curricular activities with good acronyms (eg: Jews for an Intifadah free Zionist Zorocrasy) and you will be set.

yeah, this is algebra 2. what is so hard is that the teacher will not let me sleep with him right now.....jk... What is so hard is my calculater does not perform one of the key functions were doing now. And I suck at paying attention, i'm always sleepy at school. I have a reputation for sleeping thru classes.

I remember being sleepy as hell all during high school. It starts too early, and kids need lots more sleep.

I think I would have gotten a lot more out of it if I wasn't in a haze the whole time.

A couple of school districts around here have realized that and are looking into a later starting time for schools.

lol... now i know why I disagree with everything MattTheSkywalker says. My degree is in Math, too.

Garza, to many people struggle with math because they TRY TO HARD. It isn't about studying, it is about opening your mind and examaning the problem. Do the homework, read the book, and when it comes test time don't try and remember any of it. Look at the problem and discover your own answer.

peace.

Jae - are you kidding?
I use algebra everyday and hell, I use it when planning my cycle.
I personally don't use calculus everyday - but algebra, everyday.
I also am a programmer, and my title has engineer in it, so maybe that discounts me from what you said.

If you can't get motivated to learn something in school - look around. who makes more money? the people that have the skills to do something nobody else can do - or that very few people can do.
in order to know more than someone else - you have to learn something along the way.
math is one way to do it.
