I know it's not usually recommended, but DAMN there are some fine ass guys where I work out. Don't get me wrong, I go in there to work on ME and MY body, but I haven't quite tamed my eyes from checking out all the other fine specimens lifting those weights. Who all has had an experience with this?     | ||

Everytime. I just concentrate on what Im doing and tell myself to look down. I look sometimes in between sets but not before. Fucks up concentration, cant stand it..girls in tight shirts and spandex doing ab rollers right infront of you and there shirt is hanging down and the bananas are saying "HEY LOOK AT ME, TOUCH ME, LI..." nevermind. | ||

Man, that would suck. Yeah, I can't look during sets or while I'm thinking about my workout. It tends to screw up my concentration. I don't know...It's motivation to a certain point. I just hate those people that go in the gym to just look at people. Sorority girls are infamous for this. Uhhhh...it makes me sick. | ||

I don't know about disliking the last part when I was in college... Whenever some hot chicks were nearby, my lifting partner would say real loud "SO, WE ARE LIFTING AT 4:30, RIGHT." and more than half the time when we showed up at the gym, they would be there, pretending to workout. Of course I am so inept with women that I was rarely able to "convert" on these opportunities. | ||

Dating someone from the gym can become very ugly -- then again any relationship can become very ugly regardless of where you meet him/her. I don't think you make a blanket statements like don't people from the gym. For a lot of us in the business community, the gym is the only place for us to meet people. You never know, you might be passing up a wonderful opportunity to get to know a quality person. I go to the gym around 2pm so there are not many people there. I am easily distracted if I go early in the morning or after 5pm when all the hot bodies are there. | ||

Yes, TN is not what most people from North, East, or West make it out to be. I was pleasantly surprised upon moving down here. I was especially surprised by the number of transients living here. However, I will never get used to the fact that I can be sitting at stop light and all of a sudden a bright blue, jacked up pick-up truck, with mud covering each wheel well, a gun rack in the back, and a rebel flag plastered on the window can come driving up with a blonde with huge hair and a lip full of coppenhagen in the drivers seat. Thankyou Fitnes1. Thats what happens when you grow up as I did -- I come from an italian family, grew up in the midwest where midwestern values were strongly instilled, moved out to Boston where saracasm is a second language, and now I live in Nashville where a friday evening to many consists of a bug zapper and a six pack of beer. With those types of life experiences as well as the mass chaos it creates in one's personality, you can only do one thing -- laugh at the world and yourself. ------------------ | ||

You all are hilarious!!!! I am dying laughing over here. Tman- I am originally from Franklin, Tn. I am sure you know where that is living in Nashville. I used to go there all the time! It's a neat city. There are a lot of great people in TN, but we do have our share of rednecks. I think they breed out where I used to live. Those country people do some crazy things. But wouldn't you if you had nothing but wide open spaces to deal with? | ||

Nighfly -- someone talked me into going to a field party shortly after moving here. This consisted of a lot of beer, a pit fire, and a number of rednecks. About half way through the evening, while the majority of those in attendance were highly intoxicated, was when everyone decided to bring out their guns and start firing them off. Three observations: 1) It seemed as if everyone in attendance was carrying a firearm of some sort; 2) I felt really out of place because I did not have a gun; and 3) I get really uncomfortable around drunk rednecks handling firearms. That was the last "field party" I attended. ------------------ Because I want to . . . Because I have to . . . Because I need to . . . Because I can! |
