I couldn't find this in the archives - so in theory this hasn't come up before. And this is the char board, so go nuts. Personally, I'm a safety nut after being in over 6 accidents (not driving in any of them), so I drive a '00 Saab 9-3 SE. Midnight Blue. 205HP, turbo, all that shit. more importantly you can get in some fucked up accidents and walk away alive.

In theory this hasn't come up but in reality it has. I personally drive an '89 Olds Royal, white 4 door, all power, 75000 miles on it. Not bad for a first car. My dad drives a '94 Chevy Cavalier that he lets me drive sometimes. My stepmom drives a '00 Plymouth Voyager. I drove it before but didnt like the way it handled. My dad also has a '57 Chevy Bel Aire that once we either sell and get a different one or put a new transmission in it, I'll be able to drive sometimes. ------------------

Oh yeah and I still have my first bike which is a ZX6r Kawasaki. It just sits in the garage just can't let it go. Lots of nice rides here on the Elite board. Anyone with a BMW X5? Duc's suck. Damn Twins with more cc's get to run with the single jap bikes? what the hell is that all about. Just because they have no Idea how to build a tight motor the go with a twin. Give Susuki and Honda 2 more years of testing with their twins and a duc won't even be on the track. If you got a duc for driving around town have fun getting the valves adjusted and service all the time.

Toyota Supra Twin Turbo heavily modded and never beaten on the street. And Benzo: I'm right behind you.....had mine sitted on 180 mph a couple of times. But of course I know you would get there quick due to the weight difference. ------------------

You guys are smoking crack.....no offense.. I definately want to keep my anonymity, but I have considerable experience with motorcycle road racing. E2, sure, a 929 produces more hp than a stock 748,916 or 996. Straight line speed and top hp is only a fraction of total performance during road racing. By nature, v-twins produce an easier power pulse to the rear tires, allowing higher mid corner speed and higher exit speed off of the apex of a corner. This more managable power delivery has given Ducati the advantage in road racing for the last 10 years. Also, any squid rider can twist a throttle in a straight line, but it takes an experienced rider to rail in the twisties. I've seen good riders on 600cc bikes and twins run circles around 929's, R1's, etc. in the twisties. I've done it myself hundreds of times. Bike for bike, 95% of the time, a good rider will go faster on a twin than on an inline four. Checkmatebloated, in case you haven't been following World Superbike and US AMA road racing, the new Honda RC51 is a v-twin (modeled after the Ducati 996 motor) and won the World Superbike Championship in 2000. Ducati's top rider who has won the last 2 championship titles, severly injured himself during that season. In fact, Yamaha would have won the championship but their top rider tested positive for a banned substance, ephedra, and lost many of his points. Even though Honda won the championship, my point is: 1) It was on a twin and in fact Honda has abandoned their V-4 Superbike racers in favor of the V-twin. 2) Honda fell into the championship. World Superbike racing is now full of V-Twin works-machines. That says something about the performance of the V-Twin motor. And I'm not talking about the push-rod H-D stuff. SEE THAT BIG #1 ON THAT DUCATI??? LOL

True enough , but you're talking about racing not road racing, which is very very different! All i can say is we'll go riding sometime and see how it goes ever checked out this site http://www.streetfighterz.com/

If we are talking V-Twin then I have to go with a Vmax bro. Its not a crotch rocket, but my buddy has one and it blows the doors of my 1100. For a long time it was the fastest production bike on the market. I have riden it a few times and damn near pull it over my head in 3rd gear.
Pro Bodybuilder Posts: 322 |
Yeah the Vmax is a really great bike. One of the top adrenaline producers, but it's actually a V-Four. The suspension and everything else is pretty out-of-date but Yamaha supposedly is reworking it as a new model. No for outright acceleration I did manage once to get my ass on a turbo Suzuki Hayabusa with 5psi boost. Dyno'ed at 215 rear wheel hp. Now that thing was a monster!!! ------------------

I beat crotch rockets with my Rx-7 all the time, 600 rear wheel hp. Runs low 10's consistintly. Plus my 01 Benz CL600 with lowenhart 21" blades. Lookin to get the redesigned Viper when it comes out. ------------------

Low tens in an RX-7?? Come on now!! Unless your name is Peter Farrell, I doubt it. A friend of mine races Peter at all the import events in his RX-7 Turbo II. With no NOS he has run high tens at around 130. That is with wheel spin. I don't know of any other RX-7 besides my boys and Peter Farrell's that runs those numbers. My boys car made 550 at the rear wheels and he has a HUGE turbo on it. Tell me your P. Farrell and I'll believe it! Otherwise I would have to see it. Unless it is a stripped, gutted "mida mida" car that has an annoying rawdog rotary that busts trannies every pass.
