1. Anything by Jewel

2. "Linger" by the Cranberries

3. "Oh Father" by Madonna

4. "Don't Ask Me Why" by Eurthymics

It's pouring down rain, its windy as hell, and the sky is black. It must be the weather but I'm feeling rather melancholy.

These songs came on the radio and I'm suddenly feeling weepy.

"Butterfly Kisses" I think about the day when my daughters will be married and how the relationship between them and my hubby will be forever changed as it was for me the day I married. It makes my cry as I'm typing for God's sake!...sadness for how their childhood will truly forever end, sadness for how their lives will be forever complicated and become ever-more difficult, sadness for all the time that will have passed and how they will have lost their innocense long ago, sadness for all of the pain and suffering that the lives they will be beginning will bring..........and then I think of all the happiness that will also be a part of their lives. Joy and Sorrow - one can never truly separate the two.

Oh God! I need a nap....my brain is fried.

Actually May I am a true romantic.

A sentimentalist is one who wants thing to go on forever ie someone who presses flowers and saves movie stubs etc. A romantic, on the other hand, almost yearns for the sweet sorrow that is the end that all good things come to.

There has always been a deep, dark sorrow that has been part of my being. I actually yearn to feel a good old fashioned hurting once in a while (and I'm not talking physical pain here...well, maybe that's not altogether true. I mean why the hell else would I torture myself so in the gym, hehe.) And this is OK with me. I have come to the realization that I would not be capable of feeling that absolute joy that I often feel if I were not able to experience such deep pain. See what I mean when I say that joy and sorrow, the two can never truly be separate.

Have you heard the remix of "You're Still the One"? It's by Rochelle. It's pretty good. If you liked Shania's version, you'll love this one too.

I'm in San Francisco. Take a look at our local news station's web cam: www.kpix.com.

You'll see what I'm talking about.

No song really makes me shed a tear, but some just make me take a step back and... well lets say they never pumped me up for a hockey game.

John Lennon:
-Let It Be.
-Mother.
-Stand By Me.
-Imagine.

Amazing Grace [reminds me of the speeches the priest gives at the cemetary at the end of a funeral]
Auld Lang Syne
Pink Floyd- Wish You Were Here

-Wuuuu.
-Plan for the worst; Pray for the best.
-I'm funny?...How? I mean funny, like I'm a clown?...I amuse you? I make you laugh?

"Kiss the Rain" by Billie Myers

Hello
Can you hear me?
Am I gettin' through to you?

Hello
Is it late there?
Is there laughter on the line?
Are you sure you're there alone?

Cause I'm trying to explain
Something's wrong
You just don't sound the same

Why don't you, why don't you, go outside
Go outside
Kiss the Rain!

Whenever you need me
Kiss the rain!
Whenever I'm long too long
If you feel hungry and thirsty
Kiss the rain
... and wait for the dawn

Keep in mind
We're under the same sky
and the nights
are as empty for me for you

If you feel
You can't wait til morning
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain

Hello, do you miss me?
I hear you say you do?
But the weightyness in you ..
What's new?
How's the weather?
Is it stormy where you are?
You sound so close but you feel so far

I can't go on ... I'm in tears! This is now my FAVORITE sad song.

As much as the idea of getting fucked in the elevator at my office titillates me, I wouldn't because I don't want to jinx the blind date with Marco.

Now, if this Marco thing doesn't work out, I figure if you're fast, we can get it on between the 1st and 40th floors provided we don't have to make any stops.

"I want a Mom that'll last forever"

by Cyndi Lauper off the "Rugrats in Paris" Sountrack.

I know it's corny, but I never got to know my Mom and Dad; They passed away many years ago.

BTW I highly recommend the movie. Great flick with lots of adult jokes.

Slack3r - the name of the artist is Bob Carlyle and the CD is entitled Shades of Grace. I believe that he is also the artist who recently released a single (I'm not quite sure of the title) "Christmas Shoes" or something to that effect. It is about a man who saw a poor little boy wanting to purchase a pair of shoes for his mother on Christmas Eve so that "she could look beautiful in case she meets Jesus tonight"...the mother had been ill for some time and she was near death and the child wanted his mother to look as beautiful as she could in case she died that night.

Talk about your tear-jerkers!

And yes, I LOVE ANNIE LENOX. Her voice sounds like sweet, rich chocolate.

I got all teary eyed the first time i heard that Pearl Jam song - the one about his girlfriend getting killed in the car wreck, i can't remember the name.

Butterfly Kisses does it too - when i got married last August my wife danced with her father to it and I started crying. Because her dad was almost killed a couple years back in a bad accident at work, a big I-beam fell on him and crushed his leg and smashed him in the face. just the look on her face when she was dancing with him because no one thought he would ever even walk again was enough to make me break down. i'm getting all teary just typing this. Makes you think about how special the people in your life really are.

This ain't a song, but I just heard the speech FDR gave after Pearl Harbor was bombed. That sent chills down my spine.

burndaddys gets all chocked up from:

the dance; Garth

he stopped loving her today; george jones(a real country song)

dont take the girl; tim mcgraw
reminds me of burnmommy.

dont cry daddy; elvis
this song reminds me of a friend who lost his wife and son in a car accident and was left to raise his 2y/o daughter alone, this song drops big ol burndaddy to his knees every time.

with arms wide open: creed
because burndaddy has a son that is coming around the end of Feb.
