on my recent stay in western Canada i had a great time.All the people were wonderful except for any french canadians that i met. I couldnt believe, but it seems the entire race is obnoxious, arrogant and extremely sly (aka dodgy) . I thought that it must have been a coincidence that of the 100 i met they all seemed this way. But tonight i saw that movie Vertical Limit, and in it they make a joke about some girl who is acting like a bitch, and they say 'Dont worry , she's French Canadian'. So I guess it is official, all french canadians are a bunch of felchers.     | ||

That was certainly the opinion I came away with when I visited Montreal. Something about wanting to only speak French and not deal with the reality they are surrounded and outnumbered by the English speaking. Add to that the French attitude of superiority | ||

I must admit in the 8 months i was there i met one guy who became a really good friend who was FC. But i also 1/ worked in a hotel with a FC who stole the cleaners tips from their rooms 2/ lived in a hostel with a FC who just kept sneeking back in every night to avoid paying the mere $10Can a night it costed, and sold drugs as a primary income to avoid working 3/ Worked at another job with another3 FC's who were the laziest and rudest girls i ever met 4/ Had a FC landlord who promised to fix everything in our $300/week 1 bedroom unit who never once did anything as promised as well as pocketing our $600 bond As well as evry other FC in town seemed to be some type of feral dropout or scammer..they suck, and its amusing to see it portrayed in Hollywood. | ||

Johnny - riding a bike from Montreal to Main might be beautiful if the weather's good, but miserable if it's raining, and as I remember the Northeast gets a lot of fall rain. October would be fine if your in hotels, but I wouldn't want to be on a bike, overland, unless you're prepared to freeze. I was there in fall (beautiful and crisp) and again in December (god awfull cold, like -10 degrees). | ||

I met a really nice FC girl who was in town for a convention years ago but I have always gotten the impression that that group of people feel that they are better than the English speaking populous of Canada. There are also those who want Quebec to secede from Canada. Too bad those dumb fucks cant add,subtract,and multiply because if memory serves me correctly doesnt Quebec get the most financial aid/welfare/public funding of all the Canadian provinces? ------------------ | ||

J'ai faime. Anyhow, let me tell you guys a really funny story. Last year right after the Christmas season, me and four of my friends went on a trip to Quebec City...a few hours away from Montreal and the supposed capital of Quebec. Anyhow, we were all excited and everything about the trip but when we got there, it seemed like we had just landed smack in the middle of a hick town. We were sticking out like Bill's pecker in front of Monica...I mean, everyone was always eyein us...really spooky. We even went on a little tourist trip to the Chateau Frontenac and the village around there...really beautiful in the winter time with the snow and lights. We walked into this candy store for some treats and there was this family behind us. Well everyone was minding their own business which was good..but then, while my friend and I were talking, we overheard this little kid ask his dad questions about us...I'm not an expert in their language, but I can hold my own...and to my delight, I saw out of the corner of my eye, that the kid was pointing to us (our group) and asking his dad,"quest que cest?"...his dad...being more ignorant answered, "cest un japanese tourist...We were amused...not angry..but amused..WTF.. I'm Chinese. On our way out, my friend asked the dad, "vouslez vous coucher aver moi ce soir?" He had this really angry look on his face and started to swear to us in French...it was quite funny. I'm not separatist or anything...I love french Canadians..Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy, Celine Dion, Pamela Anderson... | ||

I lived in Montreal for most of my life, and I moved away 8 months ago. I know everything about French-Canadians. I had to attend french school because of a law that says if your parents aren't born in Quebec, you have to go to french school. Most french-canadians are extremely paranoid about being assimilated by the english language. In some aspects, they are right. You have to remember that they are like 6 million people out of 300 millions people living in North America. I am not joking when I say this, when I was in High school, my friends and I would get detentions for speaking english. They would even call are parents, who, ironically, did not speak french! At a parent teacher meeting, one time, this Biology teacher refused to speak to my mother because she was speaking french. Even the kids at school would tell us to speak french, and call us names sometimes. You can't believe how many fights I got into bcz of this. Even thought there is all this shit going on, Montreal is the best place I've been. The girls are hot and slutty, and the drinking age is 18. Here in Ontario, you need ID to buy cigarettes. Steelheart, in what part of pierrefonds do live, and where do you train? | ||

I greatly respect the French-Canadian culture. It is a liberal, open-minded, and highly advanced (compared to the the US and the rest of Canada). Sex is not a taboo, drinking is not seen as a big deal (and most teens grow out of it by their early twenties), and pot is left alone and only dealt with if someone is selling it in large quantities. NO, I do not smoke pot or anything else. Canada has two...let me repeat...it has two official languages. That means you should know both English and French. You are ignorant if you choose to only know one of the two. BTW- There are far more ignorant red-necks (proportionally) in the states than in Quebec. Actually, if you place white trash from America and white trash from Quebec side-by-side (and don't let them talk) you could not tell the difference. | ||

Hey 2thick, it sounds like you are impying that the fc are far more advanced and mature than the Americans. But, I gotta agree with the consensus that the overall fc population is by far more arrogant, snobbish and stuck up than any other group and they definitely hate Americans. Yeah we got our rednecks and trailer trash, aka poor white trash, but then again that is isolated. | ||

I am from Ste. Roid, Quebec, just outside of Montreal. Although I can understand your frustrations, you cannot really generalize any populace. I have met many french canadians that are very nice people. I have also met some of the type you've described. If you want some generalizations, then at least the women are friendlier in Montreal. Try getting laid in Toronto, for example. Talk about snobs! In Montreal, they also dress alot better, but smoke cigarettes like there's no tomorrow...heheheh. HEY MY MOM IS FRENCH CANADIAN.... and she would agree, alot of the FC are rude. i witnessed it myself, old ladies flippin the bird to my aunt and mom etc while driving. i have fond memories of visiting my aunt and grandparents in montreal as a youth but not so fond memories of the "faceless" people i encountered there. as a whole my opinion of the fc population is not high. but i have to agree with 2thick, they are alot more open due to the heavy european influence, (its quite strong up there). and tv sucks up there no damn cartoons........LOL. i had to learn french to understand tv and whether any of the grownups (as a kid) were talking shit about me.....LOL peace ------------------ | ||

This is so funny!! I work at a Ski-Doo shop and have to talk to the FC every day. I really hate it when they answer the phone because I know it's going to be a struggle. It's like they are on a "different page" or got whacked with a heavy fry pan one too many times when they were a kid. There is only one FC guy up there who I actually hope answers my call 'cuz he's the only one in that dept who knows what's going on. Otherwise I'd really rather talk to someone without the heavy accent. Maybe they're not that stupid, just jerking my chain!! HEY...!!!!! | ||

Being one who is frequently in Montreal, i know what you guys are talking about. Most frech canadian women are real bitches, honestly i can't stand them, now the english french canadians are not so bad. Steelheart is right in that they're great fucks though, love to have sex all the time, Montreal is one of those cities that if you can't get laid every night in, it's time to give up and turn to beastiality. Now, i'll have to say that i'm speaking not about all french canadian women, it seems that all the garbage has pooled itself along the Quebec Ontario border, farther up in Quebec you'll find some very nice people, who are quite personably and intelligent. There is one thing that i must say though. That is that Quebec has the highest rate of genetic diseases in THE WORLD!!!!! For some diseases such as Tay-Sachs have incidences of up to 1000x the world average. All this is due to the ton of inbreeding that went on in quebec, (now the shit is going to fly). Why do you think they have such strange traffic lights??? Colour Blindness!! Another genetic disease, that's why all the lights have different shapes, so people would be able to tell which light is on without the need to be able to see colours. Guys I live in Longueuil, think the east-end of Montreal is bad. I live in the South-East. I get it all from the biker gangs to hardcore sepratists. I don't even go out on a Saturday night without my .45 strapped on. Ignorant, yes. Stupid, yes. Rude, yes. And to top it off they have a superitority complex over english people. Funny...when my friend and I were visitng MTL in August, we were (or actually, she was) mobbed everyhwere we went...the french guys (or should i say Montrealers..they werent all French) would just march right up to us and be completely blatant. My friend, used to the subtleties of the Toronto scene (so, if you want to call that snobby, ok) was completely offended....even if gods gift to manhood was there it wouldnt have done it for her because she hates upfront people. Personally, i thought it was great..I could tell them to go fuck themselves without feeling bad....you get in my face, expect it right back. ...depends on the region....I bet pickup techniques that work in Mtl would bomb in Chicago, or might work in LA, or whatever. | ||

Steelheart, that's what I thought. I used to live near Cartierville, in St-Laurent. I use to train at PowerFlex gym. Talk about hardcore, this place is packed with the best competitive guys in Quebec. Now it moved to Galerie St-Laurent, on Laurentian(Marcel- Laurin) Boul. You should check it out it only 10-15min away from Monster Gym. |
