I would include Phoenix in the top ten fittiest cities, we don't have fat chicks and very little fat guys. The little suburbia hell (yuppie land) I live in has some gorgeous woman 25-40 age group and 90% are def not fat! I love yuppie land!

I don't know how Washington, DC always gets on these lists. Everyone's top priorities here are working, status, and making money. NOT working out. And I see lots of fat people. And don't even get me started on lack of real hardcore bodybuilding here.

its not that he made it up, he got it from mens fitness..they do it every year, and it isnt the people that make it up, it is like quality of gyms, fast food, good food, water, air pollution.. peace ------------------

I think Kansas City is usually at the top of the list of 'fattest' and Philly is usually in the top 5. Baltimore? WTF..they probably weighed all the heroin addicts which comprise 10% of its population.

I just moved to san diego 2 months ago from new hampshire, what a culture shock! They say 50 thousand people a year are moving to sd area, and I can understand why. It just rained yesterday for the first time since I have been here. There is so much shit to do that I dont know what to do with myself. With Mexico only about 15 min. away, what else could you possibly want. To Anyone who does not like where they are living, get the fuck out here.

Lets just say that the woman here are everywhere. I came from New Hampshire which is real conservative. Not alot of woman in New Hampshire and very cliquey, in my town everyone knew how you were which can suck in alot of ways.. Out here I have a clean Slate.

just one quick annal question...how was fitness rated...by what standards were measured....?
Amateur Bodybuilder Posts: 138 |
I think the way they do their measurments are by; 1- how many gyms in the area 2- air quality 3- Outside activities(nature trails-shit like that) 4-beach areas 5-Here in san diego their are more fitness clubs then I can count(Well over 20 in this region)

San Diego, CA Rank: Fittest Why is San Diego America's Fittest City for the third year running? Is it the triathletes? The Chargers? The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, featuring dozens of Elvis impersonators? What's the secret here? SAN DIEGO, CA Even San Diegans participating in a recent MensFitness.com poll were fairly tight-lipped about what makes their city so fit, citing generic factors such as the environment and the beach. Maybe it's peer pressure. "With all the thin and lightly dressed people, it's difficult to be overweight and not feel very conspicuous," wrote one resident. Actually, it's ... almost everything. San Diego's year-round moderate temperatures and wealth of sunny days make it easy to get outside and get active. As for stuff to do and places to do it, take your pick: With golf courses over one shoulder and the shimmering Pacific over the other, and grassy parks and mountain-bike and hiking trails everywhere, recreation choices are almost dizzying. Top scores in the Smoking, Obesity, Junk Food, Climate and Geography categories, backed up by a better-than-average showing in the Exercise/Nutrition, Alcohol, TV, Water Quality and Parks/Open Space categories, secure the top spot. Even San Diego's low scores for Gyms/Sporting Goods Stores and Recreational Facilities may not be such a bad thing: In this fitness mecca, there are so many natural opportunities to live a fit lifestyle that maybe there's simply less need for such facilities. ------------------

quote: I used to live in KC and you're right. It's like #2 in the nation. There is a decent fitness community there, but a lot of the bodybuilders let themselves get extremely out of shape in the off season, because it looks so normal to them. |
