Thanks for the info fellas. Damn shame I don't drink coffee though, an acquired taste I have no desire to achieve. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Rex -- You might be suprised -- it comes out tasting like a chocolate mocha, plus, you get the caffeine for a kick... GG -- Yeah, I think the liquid needs to be hot enough to dissolve the protein pretty good or you end up with a mess. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

quote: I thought about that, but then I was thinking of how many recipies designer protein has out that call for baking, etc. Plus the pancake mixes from Met-Rx, etc. I'm thinking that as long as you don't boil it, you are OK. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I'm using proteinfactory protein. It mixes very well. I put it in the cup first, then pour the liquid over it to disolve it, then use coffee stirrers to mix whatever is left over. Occasionally I get a few clumps, but hey, what's a few clumps between friends? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The dealio with the heat,as I understand it, is it will denature some of the protein (especially fragile BCAA's in something like whey), but only a small fraction is denatured. Kinda like cooking meat.....if you eat it raw you get all the natural chain aa's in it (and perhaps e. coli ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Anything with egg protein is going to totally mess up. The heat will cook the egg and it "scrambles". Not pretty in a cup of hot cocoa. Whey and soy protein should stand the heating but have the clumping issues discussed. Shakley makes a great soy protein chocolate powder that makes great hot cocoa. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Tried it this morning, it clumped a little on the top. I stirred and stirred and it finally dissolved! Was pretty good! Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
