The best movie I've seen in 6 months is called "Quills". I predict it will sweep the Oscars. I think it's in limited release right now. | ||

Granted, Cast Away was not up to Tom Hanks usual standard. He is usually know for excellent movies. What I hated was after 4 years on this island in the sun, he came back and still looked as pale as he did when he left all that time before. Did anyone else notice this? And can you just walk back into society and your routine after being isolated and alone all that time? | ||

I friggin hate Tom Hanks....Forrest Gump sucked, Philadelphia he had obviously never seen anyone die from illness before, Apollo 13 and Saving Private Ryan would have been great movie if he wasnt in them. | ||

Jae -- yeah, I noticed those flaws too. What really struck me was how there was absolutely no life, barring fish and crabs, on the island. No birds, no insects. It would have been exciting if he had a run-in with a wild boar or something... Also, that nasty infection that he had on his leg just went away... anybody notice that? Untreated, that thing would have killed him inside of a week or two... The Wilson thing was weak too... The premise of the movie had potential, unfortunately the execution didn't live up to that potential. Plus, the childlike moral of the story at the end really raised my hackles... (I might have lost her, but blah,blah, blah -- how trite.) I'm not a huge Tom Hanks fan though, I think he takes himself WAY too seriously... | ||

I'll go against the grain here and say i enjoyed Cast Away. Thought it was a damn good movie. It seems like you can't get too popular or people start to hate you. Tom Hanks is the man. | ||

I've never seen forest gump .. actually i don't think i've seen any tom hanks movie except philidelphia, which was ok, but i didn't think it was great. there was a simular movie to philadephia with the guy from Trapper John MD and Eric Roberts as lovers... that one had me depressed for weeks. | ||

My friend went to see that. He said it blew absolute donkey dick. I thought it looked dumb from the friggin previews and wouldn't waste my or anyone else's money for that matter to see it. Tom Hanks ain't that bad. Saving Private Ryan was awesome one way or the other. ------------------ | ||
