I'm getting close to graduating highschool, and by summer I don't want to be working at KFC anymore, I can't stand it. I like my co-workers but the rest of the job blows. I want to be a desk guy at my gym but that's not guarenteed. What are some slightly better jobs than fast-food-minimum-wage bullshit teenager jobs? I need something that will pay like 7-8 bucks an hour but I don't need any special skills for. I may get an apprenticeship job programming webpages but that's not guarenteed either...     | ||

Go work for a telephone company or electric company. They pay well and all you need is a high school education for most positions. ------------------ | ||

Definately take the apprenticeship as web page designer. It will open up more doors than anything and you can take advantage of the employers tution support program. | ||

Yeah Jae, that would be the best way, but my teacher talks a lot of bullshit so I don't know if he really can get me a job in that field or not. I may just go and try to get in myself. | ||

Frack, Jae's advice is good as usual. See if you can do anything - fucking anything - that gets you involved with technology....even if it means carrying the cables so they can be set up......it will take you in the right direction.... | ||

Try a temp service. Many pay more than that. Also if you don't like the job you just ask for something else. That way you can bounce until you find something you like. They will ask you about things your interest in and like to do. They make money from placing you long term. Just an idea. | ||

Go for a waiter somewhere with a lot of business. If you can fake smile and jaw with some old people you'll make a hell of a lot nightly in tips. If you can put up with it, it brings in tons. Great summer job | ||

Make a goal, figure out what you want to do with your life. Stay at home. Go to college. Get a part-time job. Don't worry about the money. It comes later. | ||

On average I get about 10 an hour at GNC, there is also a 30% discount and alls I do all day is read magazines/books or listen to the radio. great part time job because at my place at least I pick my own hours | ||
