pretty common in the UK, they advertise thai brides, russian brides. often they have no other hope and choose to do this as a last resort. They've done numerous documentaries on it, and the bloke ends up on marrying within like a week. I'm not even sure if he has her tested for STD's but if it was me, i'd do every blood workup under the sun. | ||

Interesting. All those girls, whether they're Russian or Thai, or Bulgarian or Vietnamese, or you name it, are just trying to get out of their native countries because of the hardship that comes with living in an area that's economically and politically unstable. I understand the logic of these girls; to them coming to the States would open so many doors of opportunity. I'm sure not even one of those girls really believes that she will actually fall in love. However, what I don't understand, is why would any self-respecting man would stoop that low and decide to order a desperate woman. These guys can't possibly think that it will be real love, can they? I mean that whole power dynamics within the relationship will definitely manifest itself right away. I feel sorry for those girls, but at least I understand their reasoning. I do not and cannot understand the dudes who "order" these girls (is it like ordering prime cuts of beef from Vermont through the Williams & Sonoma catalogue?). Peace | ||

In certain parts of Russia there are a lot more men than women in some areas which explains one of the reasons why these women put themselves up to be married to someone in a foreign country. In Japan, and probably in other countries too, a lot of people over the years have moved to the city, depopularizing many rural areas. In the family as the oldest son usually takes over the farm or business this causes a lot more men to be living in these areas than women.As a result there aren't enough prospective brides available. The only way they can marry someone is through these bride ordering schemes. So in my opinion its a two way thing-both sides gain. I don't think its entirely based on the Russian women wanting to have a better life in another country or the men just wanting a woman to sleep with and do the housework. I think if they could marry someone from their own country they would. With Phillipino women my opinion differs and I would have to say its more of a monetary thing. | ||

I fucking know. I used to work with this guy that ordered his wife from Thailand. Everybody knew it from work, and this guy shows up to a work related party with her. And he wondered why everybody was creeped out by the whole thing. Go figure! | ||

Like Blackhaus said. It is true. A&E did a documentary on this very subject. Some deception was on both ends. Men were exploiting and abusing the women and several went back to Russia. One case had a woman who married an american guy (older middle aged) and she found herself a boyfriend and they conspired and murdered him for the insurance money. I am sure there are some people who really want to fall in love but they are going to too much of an extreme. ------------------ | ||

I understand the girl's reasoning in this situation - they want to come to America. I can also understand the man's position who orders. There are some very lonely people out in the world and they don't want to spend the rest of their lives by themselvess. True they may be desperate, but to them ordering a bride may be their best alternative. | ||

This site is nothing - you have to do a search for Russian Amputee Mail Order Brides - it is out there. awesome. they pretty much marry you, get over here, take what money they can and leave your ass, I'd avoid it like the plague. |
