I posted this on another board and was curious as to what you bro's thought..

I am not a strong squatter...I have a touchy lower back and have had ACL surgery on
my knee 2 years ago..however I still like to squat and can do 275 for 12 (however..I can
bench 275 for 13..hmmm something ain't right here) anyway..the other day I decided to
try the 20 rep squat thing...I got loose and put 135 on the bar and did 20 reps...good
burn going in the old legs..bumped it up to a whopping 155 (Im not stupid) and did 20
and almost puked my guts out....(I will never look at a barbell loaded with 155lbs the
same again) my head was spinning my stomach was rolling and thank god I didn't have
any gas cuz I would of shit myself right there in the gym... Anyone doubts how hard 20
rep squats are..give them a shot and post your experience...My opinion...They
SUCK!!!!(so that means they work)

I do that once a month... sometimes more often if I'm training for a race. A friend told me you feel dizzy and puke if the cardio isn't there to support your muscles.. but like anything do it more often and you'll get used to it.

I love em, I agree Johnny O, I think most of the pain is cardio related. I keep my reps at about 12 to 15 now cuz after that I really start to run out of air and I find myself gasping for it fish out of water!!

Dude I had an ACL recon., removed a cyst the size of a golf ball, & had 1/3 of my miniscus removed(all in the same knee). just use common sense and you will get there. Oh yeah... 20 reppers are for the strong willed ONLY@!!!!! Keep it up.

i like 20 rep breathing squats, load up what you can do ten of then after each one after ten take a breath or as many as needed to push out the next one until you hit 20,that is the hardest workout i have ever done

My lower back gets pumped too (must be dbol). I am going to have to do some machine squats and hacks to take some pressure of my back. Then I should be able to finish up with squats.
