this probably a bad question to ask here, you should probably ask a doctor or someone like that, because you will get guys throwing out numbers from their cycles but they wont take into account water gain etc, because they dont really know.

My guess would be 2-3 pounds of lean muscle per week. minus the water retention. Thats quite a bit if you think about it.

theres no way in hell that some one can gain 2-3 pounds of lbm, except if you were on gear, even then its quite alot. remember that one pound of muscle can hold more than twice its weight, of water. natually i dont think anyone can really gain an substantial amount in a week. maybe a couple pounds every month. were talking lbm, if your talking about total weight its a different story.

the most muscle a natural bodybuilder can gain per week, if all factors regarding muscle growth are optimal...is 0.5-1lb of muscle per week. smaller poeple closer to 0.5, and larger poeple closer to 1lb. most poeple don't gain this much, simply becuase they are not doing everything in their power to make muscle growth happen.

For a seasoned lifter 1/8 Lb to 1/4 Lb. a week is a significant gain (of muscle, not water) the only problem is that standing on the scales doesn't separate water from muscle.

I gained 2.25 per week naturally. I was 226 at 19% fat. 4 weeks later Im 218 at 11.8% fat. Do the calculations. I just started eating six small meals per day. # weight training days 3 cardio days. 3 designer protein per day. Thats it. Im on a strict regimen for 12 weeks.

It depends on what level you are on. If you are a novice to lifting with a bad diet and bad sleeping patterns then you could see a dramatic jump in LBM for the first few months (once you start lifting, eating and sleeping optimally). I will dare to guesstimate about 1-2 pounds per week for a few months then it will slow down. For a conditioned lifter with a good diet, good training schedule and enough sleep, I would say about 1/4 of a pound of lbm per week (as plifter has mentioned). It is hard to gain quality muscle once you are past your body's equilibrium or "natural weight". Gear speeds up the process for conditioned lifters and athletes (but I believe it doesn't do much for the inexperienced lifter since they do not have the physical of mental tools to use gear efficiently. |
