Kinda off topic but..has anyone else here had ACL surgery on the knee?? I did about 2 years ago...complete tear...they did with 1/3 of my patellar tendon...now I can run just as fast as I could before..but the leg that had the surgery on is stil about 3/4 inch smaller than the other one..also my good leg..the quad is rock hard..while the leg with the surgery the quad is hard..but not solid like the good leg...Anyone have any advice esp. if you have had the surgery on how to bring the leg back up to normal??

Me too- 3 years ago- I had and ACL surgery- but the surgery I had was relatively new at the time, but they drilled to holes in my legs one opposite of each other(not quite of sure of the names of the bones) then shredded muslce from my hamstring and ran it through the two drilled holes, placed screws to keep it secure. The muscle on the back of my leg took 2 years to be able to work out with it to the point where it was as strong as the other leg. Partly because it had so much muscle missing and also because I babyed it for a while. I found the squats, althouh not recommended for the knee, brought my strength back a lot quiker. There is still indentation from the muscle the was shredded, but it egually strong. I also am only 18 so I have never used any kind of steroid.
