but also you'd have to consider that the roids (american at least) are obtained through a perscription so maybe it would be patients...and they just sell it. What would it take to get a script of test?? I've gotten many scripts of prednisone thats a steroid for my asthma. It gives you a lot of water bloat.

Athletes, but I think the number of patients that are taking it is going up do to doctors seeing the light and prescribing test to aging men with lower levels. I still think its a damn shame more middle aged men don't get this kind of treatment.

Prednisone is not an ANABOLIC(building/synthesis) steroid. You will not gain LBM while on prednisone, and is not considered to be a substance with potential for abuse. Remember that just because it is a compound that contains the steroid molecule, doesn't mean that it will enhance athleticism. And about your question, it is said that there are 3 million people who use steroids for athletic purposes. You would have to look into medical statistics to figure out the number....it is there somewhere. You are asking for opinions, which in this case, will not accurately answer your question. But I personally predict that hormone replacement therapy use will be greater than athletic use in the near future.

I agree totaly with the chemist. Prednizone is a catabolic steroid. Not only does it bloat you but 3 out of ten patients get mental disorders from long term use. But I do say the number of people gaing scripts for test are on the rise. Just my 2cc. Later, Bob

It is actually a cortico steriod. It is catabolic to muscle, you will put on fat and retain more water. It can negatively effect your immune system and is associated with diabities and osteoporosis in later life. It is usually given to people who have harsh allergic reactions. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Julez (edited December 26, 2000).]

Minor League players do get tested (just not for roids) I'd definitely say Patients. I'd be willing to bet everyone with a terminal illness has been on steroids. Ex. Magic Johnson, this guy got huge after being diagnosed with HIV. Most people with that illness get smaller and eventually get the AIDS virus. I would be willing to bet that one of the reasons he's still alive are his steroids.
