This is a myth started by Lyle Alzado. He claimed that steroids caused his cancer. I've never heard of any medical studies that have ever linked AAS to brain cancer. | ||

Some people are gentically predisposed to develop cancer sometime in their life. So I hate it when someone like Lyle Alzado says that his cancer was "caused" by his AS use. That is total crap. How exactly did he determine that there was a causal relationship between his AS use and cancer. Based on his logic, I could deduce that lifting weights or playing football or even eating Cheerios caused his cancer. There is no way to establish what came first without doing a full double-blind study. I number of things could have contributed to his cancer...there is just no way to know. And as the previous post mentions, there are no studys that show a link between brain cancer and AS use that I am aware of. Hope that helps. | ||

As I remember Alzado was claiming that his brain tumor grew at an accelerated rate due to his steroid use. The thing about Lyle was that he never brought his doctors with to back up him up. It was always Lyle with his red rag on his head spouting off about things that only he believed were true. ------------------ | ||

NO connection between brain cancer and AS. Only cancers associated with AS have been prostate, testicular, liver, and rarely kidney. Keep in mind that these are seen in patients recieving steroid therapy for MANY years at a steady dose (drugs like abombs at 60mg/day for 3 years for example). Ive only read reports of LIVER tumors, but heard that the others are POSSIBLE (yet to see any cases). | ||

2Thick, hGH from cadavers is thought to contain prion proteins. These prions are basically "time bombs" that will cause many cognitive disorders (like with what was seen by Mad Cow disease). But cancer is thought not to be associated with prions. | ||

yes it was aids and shit all the gear and hg helped keep him alive an extra couple years.
