If you are goin to use Anabolics for any length of time its imperative that you be doctor monitored!! Many people I dont think take the use of steroids as seriously as they should, its not pez candy we are playing with here my brothers, your fucking with mother nature. Be honest with your doctor, if he is an older fellow, he may not understand you may catch hell, in that event find a new health care provider. Your doctor cannot discuss your medical information with anyone, so long as you are of legal age. When you come clean with your doctor request that he not put any information pertaining to your A.S. use on your charts. This will keep anyone else who may have access to them from reading them. A doctor specializing in sports medicine will be very keen as to what needs to be done with your blood work. If you dont have access to one, then request that your doctor check your liver enzymes, natural test levels (pre and post cycle) cholesterol, blood pressure (which should be checked regularly on cycle)not to mention have him keep an eye on your kidneys as well. If you cannot use A.S. safely and recognize all the risks involved then you have no business using them period!! Have a safe and happy holidays brothers, ------------------

Good post. If you are of legal age your doc can't say anything, if you are under legal age you shouldn't be playing with it anyway. I go for a complete physical every 3 months, all the bloodwork and ECG and bells and whistles. Also get a DXA bodyfat analysis, it is neat to see a x-ray of your body. I will get it scanned someday and post it. Great to determine your genetic potentioal. ------------------

WCP, in theory great post... Reality for some, for me rediculous. I live in a town of 9,000 people O.K. Not counting 2 colleges but... My Dr. is my Ex-girlfriends DAD. She works there, My best friends MOM is a Nurse there... I have been going there for about 7-8 yrs. The whole fucking town would know if I juiced in about, 30 mins... I'm fucked. Bump!! Greenhouse, I would find another doctor to go to then. My whole family goes to my doctor, but then again they all I know I use gear so go figure. Im sure him revealing confidential info like that could render severe consequences to his practice. WCP ------------------

Not Sure if I agree. It sounds good on the screen but not sure how reality would work. Just somequestions if you don't mind. Do you just tell them? What can they really do beides tests? Just not sure on the topic. Perhaps you will perswade me to do so. ANY INFO YOU have would be helpfull. Thanks ------------------ Lift

Jay, yeah you just tell them. When I first told my doctor about being a bodybuilder he simply said "ok, so what are you taking?" I dont think it takes a hell of a lot of persuading when it comes to your over all health man. Think about it!! ------------------

I don't know about this one. You tell your doc, he's gonna put it in your files for future reference. I would assume that your insurance company has access to your files. Once they see the word "steroid" in your file, they won't want to pay for shit cause they will come back and say it's due to substance abuse. I may very well be wrong, but I wouldn't want to be the one to find out.

Good post, but the last reply about insurance carriers finding out is a good questions. I would like to know more about this as well. I am just fortunate enought that the doctor I am with does not record any of my AS use. He just anotates that the test are wanted by the patient for personnal reasons. ------------------

Let me fill you guys in on the oh so kosher relationship between most HMO's and doctors... Docs dont like them cause they never pay quickly and dont want to pay for half the shit the doctor does. This is not true in all cases but most. I specifically said to instruct the doctor NOT to put your steroid info on your charts. Most docs are more than willing to jip an HMO simply cause they know they will screw him/her any chance they get. WCP ------------------ |
