I hear on this and every other board time-and-again about how being a teenager going through puberty is like being on a cycle blah blah blah.

I'd like to know if anyone knows this for a fact or if it is just a guess.

For example, does anyone know what an average blood level of testosterone is for a young male, vs. what it would be for someone injecting one sustanon per week?

I think it would be interesting to see whether being a teen is truly like being on a light cycle of test...

It is not a fact. I read an article that cited a medical journal somewhere and it had the natural test levels of teenagers as well as adults. Obviously the adults had less than the teens, but it was (some figure that was under 330mgs of total testosterone at the higher range) for teens.

If someone was to do a cycle they would defintely use more than 330mgs of total steroids/wk.

Trying to re locate that article.

You have enough to make good gains naturally, I know this from experience. I went from 145-205 in under 2 years from age 18-20. alot of it is said to keep teenagers off the sauce. I really feel that u should have 2 or so years of hard training under your belt with some descent gains before going on. I feel its like "putting in your time" before u get to reap the rewards. Guys that go on from day one get the huge size all at once, they never have that natural peak. Its all from drugs from day one.

Yeah BM, I plan to be back at my previous <back injury> 195 at 6' lean before I start my cycle. I'm 18 and will have been training for 1 1/2 years seriously by that time.

The free floating blood levels of males between the ages of 17-21 is some 19% higher than those of the 22-27 age grouping. It is not just a higher test level that will promote faster gains in teens. Everything from less garge built up in your intestine do to their age, leads for more of the food to be absorbed...then there is ILGF level, Gh levels, Seratinon levels, insulin sensativity...all much higher in teens than older groups. The reason for the rapid growth seen in teens has to do with all of these factors.

Dr. Jason B. Dingleir, "A study of post pubescent male endrocrine system." 1996. Medical economics listing number T5492-pr.

Unfortunately, there has been a severe drop in serotonin levels over the past 60 years in teens...with absolutely NO explaination. I suffered from it, and got that little peice of info from him.

That's true meanone, GH and other levels would of course be higher, but I still don't think that they could compare to a shot or 2 of sust/week.

The supplemented test levels induced from a cycle are far greater than what any teen produces(even on the high end). Lets not mention that not all teens are incredible testosterone producing machines. Everyone is different, that includes teenagers. Genetics do vary, even at the age when we arn't legal to consume alchohol. Yes good gains can be made by SOME teens, but not all are geneticly gifted. We always preech how all of us on here(majority full grown adults) are all different in many ways. Same goes for the younger folks. Many young people have mature enough minds to responsibly use AS. Many don't. But to just say that being young is like constantly being on a cycle is wrong and misleading.

good info Meanone. I used to be this boney 120lb pencil necked geek in the 9th grade. Then all at once, I just had a growth explosion which I'm sure is a result of high natural hormones levels. I am now 173lbs....completely natural..hehe...until next week. Definately not a good idea to do a cycle before your natural growth has occured. I would guess that 20 or 21 would be safe. What do you think?

I was never trying to argue that teen test levels would be lower than cyled dosages, at I'm not discouraging younger teen use. I began when I was 18, after I had the "poop beat out of me" for the first time in my wrestling career (he is well known on several boards). He taught me about cycles, and got me interested in what is now my major.
HOWEVER, when you cycle anabolic steroids for extended periods of time (over 10-14 days), your body's natural production of seratonin, gH, and ILGF all go wayyyyyyy down. This is why steroids often lead to depression. But further more, your short cutting what you might spend $800 a vial to do in two years (hGH). While the problems will vary to a certain degree amongst different individuals, you also are short cutting, happiness, ability to keep a rational thought pattern (like it's not hard enough when your a teen, right?), and possibly things like bone growth (decreased gh). All in all, I wouldn't give an earliest age, I would say when you are mature enough to make the decision and well after your begin to go from a skinny school boy, to looking more like a broad shouldered man. Basically, take advantage of what you have, while you have it. If you ABSOLUTELY need more testosterone, then go for it, but you might be missing out on some of the other ingredients in the puberty cocktail.

This is the third time I've posted this in about 2 days:

A male will produce between 10 - 15mg of test per week. A teenager is up the higher end of that spectrum (around 14-15mg). So the difference between a teenager is only ever going to be around 4 - 5mg a week, hardly anything if your putting 500mg of test in your body a week.

Bassicaly, there isn't a great difference.
