well to not jump into things just yet, but my doc called out of the blue, after i thought everything was over. they said not only my liver enzimes are wacked, but she told me there is something else(alot of things) wrong with my liver but she wouldnt tell me. she is sending me to some specialist in L.A. i dont know what kind of specialist BUT i am kinda freaked just alittle because i am afrade i of having a livr cell tumor or something. while taking the 17aa's i was also taking & abusing narcodics. i was taking the narcs for the past 5 years VERY frequently everyday. since i got off them, my damn doc calls and tells me this.i was last "LAB TESTED" about 2 weeks ago... i have a docs app today to find our more info and i will keep you guys posted. -MIKE-     | ||

Take it easy Bro!! Talk to your MD�s about Gluthation Peroxidase, It is widely used in europe for abot 10 years...Some say that it can completely tur around liver damage! The brand name from Boehringer-Manheim is Tationil 600. Good luck!! | ||

Hepatocellular CARCINOMAS are quite rare with steroid use, even in moderate doses over a period of YEARS as seen in some therapies. I dont know the effect of the narcs on the liver, but if you wernt taking a shitload of 17aas for a long ass time, i dont think the AS would cause the liver problems. In most cases, any tumors (more commonly adenomas) regress upon withdrawl of the steroids used. | ||

I don't want to alarm you, a tumor or cancer would be very bad, BUT if the liver is degenerated or broken down like "liver cirose", as long as you have 25 % of your liver healthy, your liver WILL recover after months and months, this is a fact. But you have to help him, take everything you can to do so (E2 can say to you what to take, i don't recall myself). Meanwhile don't drink alcohol and don't take roids, don't take narcodics either. Just what i would do myself. ------------------ Don't look back, life is too short | ||

Before getting crazy over this, wait to see what the specialist has to say. . .there is always hope and a positive attitude is the key to beating any health problem. Good Doctors are incredibly important as well, but there is no supplement for a positive attitude. Our prayers are with you, keep the faith and keep us posted. i just got back from the doc, and they took another blood test. as for the narc's i will feel the with-drawls pretty damn soon..! i was taking vicodine, larcet ect.. i go to thespecialist on jan-11. BUT i will know if my enzimes go down here in the next few days. one of them was 342, the other was 120,,.. | ||

I hope that things work out for you bro. What kind of drugs were you using? I had a friend who took steroids for 10 years and partied his ass off. When he got married and retired, he went to see his doc. Well, he freaked because his numbers were so off the chart that he felt he had done irreversable damage to his liver. He also went to a specialist. The specialist told him that he needed to kknow everything he had been doing. When he told him all the steroids he had been using, the doctor gave him something for his liver and put him on a strict diet. I know he is ok now. He was able to get himself back together by cleaning out. I also know it took him over 3 years to finally get normal readings. Did you tell your doctor about all this use, and is your doctor experienced with athletes? My experience is that the doctor you just talked to probably has no clue about how to treat an athlete, and long term abuse can make the readings look bad, but new studies have shown otherwise. I posted a thread on something about the liver months ago, I'll try to retrieve it for you. Hopefully it is just that your readings are from the abuse. Don't freak out yet bro. I will ask my buddy the next time I see him in the gym and find out some info for you. Than I will post it. I know the first doctor freaked him out.....HE IS OK. yeah bro, just remeber doctors really don't know shit about AS use-there have been NO studies based on people using the dosages of test. etc that bodybuilders use-it would never get approved. ------------------ | ||

Be brave grab your balls and squeeze. Take great solice in the fact that the human body is incredible at fixing itself. It may be screwed up now but tuning and tweaking it will help it heal itself. Be positive and don't get down. Mental attitude is 99% of any problem like this type. | ||

ok, i just got off work. thanks for ALL the concern.... this damn doc is a CHICK! she grabbed my dick and felt my balls to see how bad they shrunk... hell, they are alot better than a few weeks ago. if she would have seen them a few weks ago she would have laughed her ass off!! lol.. how long does it take for them to grow back anyway?? bitch wouldnt give me clomid. SHE knows nothing. she tells me the pain pills had nothing to do with my liver!"BULLSHIT" anyhow, i am concerned about my balls as i am with my liver. GOD i hope the results are good in a few days when i get them!! | ||

Well Bro, I�ll be sincere, those numbers, Oxalacetic And Pyruvic Transaminases, are pretty high, You HAVE Hepatitis Bro (Druggie Hepatitis, not Viral)...So you have to really take care! The minimun recuperation time is 2 months, so as everyone told you don�t take ANY stuff..and remember to tell the Doc about the Tationil. Good Luck, we are all with you! | ||

I can sympathize. On 9/7/00 my liver enzymes were crazy, because of adding Dianobol to some testosterone I was doing. My ALT (SGPT) liver enzymes were 351. My AST (SGOT) was 95. So I had hepatitis. My MD (who has done numerous cycles of AS himself) tol me it would take months for my liver to heal, but that it would heal. But I did some research on my own and started taking L-Glutathione (similar to the glutathione peroxidase mentioned above, but available in every health food store in the USA) and also Calcium-D-Glucarate. This second one is amazing. The glucarate molecule aids the liver in glucorinidation - one of the main ways of detoxifying itself. By 10/12/00 my AST was down to 27 and my ALT was down to 41. PERFECTLY NORMAL enzyme levels. I had been taking milk thistle before which I definately now think is over rated as it did nothing to really help me. In about 2 weeks of taking the calcium D glucarate and L -Glutathione my liver looked perfectly normal. Did my liver going crazy when I stacked some D-Bol make me quit steroids altogether? Well I will not take orals again that is for sure. But I just finished a cycle of ttestosterone in a fairly sizeable amount today. I felt great and my blood picture looked good. Test is best. Forget the fancy stacks. Test is easy, the sides are predictable and treatable, and its fairly cheap. | ||

mike -- In regards to getting a new doc, don't just look for one because your current doctor disagrees with you. Maybe she is right. find the best doctor you can, regardless of their personal views. Hell, my doctor hates athletes, but he is a genius. I'd rather be bitched at than deal with incompetence anyday.... good luck. I'll be hoping for your complete recovery Puc ------------------ | ||
