Can this be done? What other methods are there? I don't think my insurance will cover it.

gyno is gland, so no way to shrink that without surgery. If you drop weight, the fat (like in a woman's breast) will go away and it will look better. You could take an insurance for it, and wait untill it is covered. ------------------ Don't look back, life is too short

There is no way to do it. My doc gave me something called danazol and it did no good. Your insurance will cover it. Its male breasts called gynecomastia. My doc didnt even ask what kinda plan I had and she said its covered. I got the procedure done and the results were alot better than before. I have natural gyno, not as induced. ------------------

Not possible, as the other replies have already said. You insurance should pay for it. Gynocomastia is not a normal male occurance, although it's common. It's painful. SO surgery is not considered cosmetic, if your insurance provider says it is, have your Dr write them and explain the situation.

I don't think insurance will cover it because I just recently went to the doctor for an infection. So it will be on my record, I don't think they will allow it.

Mookie - find a plastic surgeon or a different doctor. If they tell you it wont be covered they are full of shit. As someone else mentioned it usually requires a doctor to make a case with your insurance. I did this and after 2 months they finally approved it. As far as there being no other cure - bullshit. Ive posted this and at least half a dozen others have: If you take an antiestrogen (nolvadex), a antiprogesterone (winny) and inject medrol (cortizone) directly into the mass it will get noticably smaller. It doesnt completely go away, but after gyno surgery you will have lumps of scar tissue there anyway. And if you have serious gyno with a ton of fat built around it you will have to get liposuction or you will never lose the fat deposits. Frankly, after having gyno, you should expect to have some permanant scarring, either from the surgery, or remaining gyno.
