#23.... if you had asked for a common foundation of most hormones, carbon would be correct because they are organic compounds. if you wanted basic the basic COMPOUND, that would have been more correct. as for it being in most hormones...maybe or maybe not. gh, insulin, and glucagon are structured around proteins. LH is based on a glycoprotein. polypeptides make up ADH,ACTH, MSH, TSH, Calcitonin, oxytocin, and parathormone. modified amino acids make up epinephrine, thyroxin. STEROIDS are cholesterol derivatives. estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, hydrocortisone, aldsoterone. (i guess thats what you were driving at) and to think, i originally put cholesterol but changed it....DOH! getting too cerebral i guess. ------------------ | ||
