Whats really the deal with this shit? Does it make you happier? If I took it would I be happier person in general? I heard it makes you want less sex? Is it a fucking mirical drug or just a big hoax by the pharmacutical companies? Whats the straight dope with prozac bros.     | ||

It's all about a chemical imbalance,a shortage of seritonin. This may cause depression in some individuals combined with how life can suck anyway. You don't want to be on it unless a doctor really sees the need for it. It should always be combined with counciling. Side effects include less libido, being tired, low motivation, and definetly less agression, weight loss. It killed my weight training, but kept me out of depression. Everything is a trade off... | ||

I had a friend that went on it for a about 2 months for severe depression...he quit taking it...He could sport wood but couldn't ejaculate..no matter what...He is a little older than I am..(he's 37) and he said when that effect wore off he was choking the chicken and got him an over the shoulder shot..something he hadn't done in years.. :-) ------------------ | ||

Depression is mainly caused by a lack of chemical in the brain called seritonin. The lower the seritonin levels the worse you feel. To give a good example of this is...When a woman PMS's ..the reason they are so moody and depressed is that PMS is actually a drop in seritionin in the brain. Prozac is a very good antidepressant...if needed. As with many drugs, people react to them in different ways.Not very many react with a low sex drive. If I were you I would first try the herb- St. Johns wort..this is inexpensive and works very well. If this does not do the trick, then try the herb.. Kava Kava,...again if this doesn't work, then try the pharmacueticals. Prozac has to be taken at the same time every day on a daily basis or it will not work. As far as the "bad rap" prozac has it's because sometimes this drug works so good, people think that if they take more of the drug, the more euphoric they feel..thats when you deal with some really bad sides-basically screwing with your brain/emotions..thats why you hear about these crazy chainsaw killing episodes..and the first thing the media says..THEY WERE ON PROZAC! I took prozac and it worked great. You don't really notice it working. But, DO NOT drink or do stimulants when you're on it, because you will feel way more depressed the next day. That's why I stopped taking it. Hope this helps. | ||

In reference to what someone else had said - taking it at the same time is mainly to help you remember to take it everyday - a friend who is a doctor that worked on the original trials of these passed that on. I'm currently on Zoloft which is the same as Prozac. I'm not on a high does, but I was a few years back and I could have sex for and hour and not cum. Then as I got onto even higher doses for me it wouldn't even get up. I eventually got off of it and am back on it again now, but much lower dose. Yeah, you don't want to be drinking while taking it - it takes far fewer drinks than normal to make your brain forget to remind your lungs that they should be breathing. came pretty damn close to that in college. another thing to note - someone said that people think they can take more and feel even better, and then get bad side effects and go on killing sprees - well, I've never heard of the sprees, but I can guarentee you that the larger amount doesn't mean much - it works via blocking seritonion reuptake in the sodium channels of the synapses - at some point you will block it all and then all the extra stuff you are taking is solely there for side effects - and it doesn't help produce any extra seratonin, just slows the reuptake of it so more stays in that channel (by more, it just means a "normal" amount - if you don't need it, it won't do anything for you but side effects). on the other hand, if you want to get a rush of increased seritonin, you want extacy, that is exactly what it does, it flushes it all out, and overloads the sodium channel and usually ruptures the synapse leaving you with a dead neuron, or one that doesn't map correctly anymore. and yeah, hi everyone - I'm new to the board - I'm planning to start a basic cycle of Deca soon and am in the process of learning and finding sources and such - just saying hi and adding info where I can. | ||

I've been taking 20mg/day for anxiety. Works great and hasen't done shit durring my current cycle. All is good but like mentioed before I'm He-Man in the sack. I have about a 50-50 to blow a load. That's the only thing negative I can say about it. Later, Green | ||

i have been trying to find a medication for anxiety and obbesseve compulsive disorder,but i havent came across one that worked for me yet, i tried prozac,it didnt do anything ,i also tried paxil it didnt do anything i went as high as 80mg on that ,i am on remeron right now,this one actually works,but it doesnt help with anxiety and ocd it just helps me not at as angry, can i take stimulants while on remeron?? | ||

Well I have been on paxil for about 5yrs now. WHich is generally the same as the rest of the antideppressants. I've also taken wellbutrin, Klonipin, and xanax. Long story short, my head was fucked-depression and extreme anxiety(some hallucinations) This shit was a miracle for me. I thought I was headed for the mental hospital. But as for side effects...it helped me last a lot longer when bangin' bitches. Which was a plus for both of us. It makes you pretty tired a lot. Drinking booze when you first start taking this type of dope will F$CK you up. A lot of blackouts. BUT BASICALLY THIS WILL NOT CHANGE REGULAR HUMAN EMOTIONS. It isn't a happy pill, clinical dpression is alot different from having the blues. Definitely try to stay away from the booze if you take xanax, unless you don't want to remember last night(maybe a good thing). when i was on prozac ,it made my dick bigger and made my last longer,i dont know if my dick actually got bigger,maybe i have never gottin a real full erection before,it made my dick feel like rubber ,but on paxil when i went more than 30 mg i didnt have no sex drive at all,if u were to walk in a room with 10 naked hoes i still couldnt get it up | ||

I've been on Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, one other I cant think of and now Wellbutrin. Like my Dr. said why all are ssr but act diffrent to a degree. Out of all of them I like Wellbutrin and Zoloft the best. What it does for me is it takes the highs and lows of your day and makes you have an elevated mood all day. I wouldnt say that it makes one happier but more like you think more good will happen than bad in your day. seitz ------------------ | ||

Irish I was in the same boat with my anxiety. I was so fucked up I didn't even relize what was going on. It finnaly dawned on me when I freaked out in the mall one night. Anxiety sucks ass BIG time. This little pill I take every morning is a life saver in my book. Later, Green Shit I wish Prozac would make my dick grow!!!! | ||

It differs with individuals, of course. Wellbutrin is truly a cool drug, and combined with good old-fashioned (and cheap) Lithium Carbonate (for obsessive-compulsive disorders and manic-depressive tendencies), not a bad combination. My favorite is Effexor, though. Next is Serzone (or Cancolit in the U.K.) You really need a phychiatrist's diagnosis, though, in my opinion. I remember him telling me one thing: "I wouldn't recommend Prozac for you." Stupid me. I bought and took Prozac, having been out of the U.S. for months -- just because it was cheaper -- and almost wanted to jump off a bridge. No Prozac for me again, ever. Paxil makes you feel good from day 1. I felt a lot "calmer" and generally in a better mood. I guess the anti-depressent properties dont kick in for a few weeks. | ||

george,thanks for the advice,its good to hear that some of these meds promote fat loss,does that stack also promote muscle gains? or will it hinder muscle gains or will u lose muscle too ,or just fat?? oh yea about paxil, when i was on i quit taking it within 3 hours before bed,cuz it would make me full all jumpy and hard to stay in one place and hard to fall asleep,it felt like i wanted to run around in circles | ||

Hey I'm on Zoloft and it has been a God send. It doesn't make you happy. It allows you to be happy. Its like taking a black sheet off that has been covering you. Its not like valium. But it does the job well. ------------------ If you enjoy it today you can always do it again tomorrow. |
