Quote from January 2001 Flex Magazine:

"All true bodybuilding fans were hoping that this was the contest where competitors would take their lumps for having lumps. Synthol, marketed most commonly under Pump 'n Pose, made its bumpy water presence felt at the Mr. O, and it seemed that those who appeared to have used it werne't penalized accordingly.
There isn't a test for the crap, but the irony of this oily injectable is that one of the worst side effects of using Synthol is that it makes a physique look like it's riddled with tumorish protusions and smooth bulky layers that lack fibers and sinew. Yes, some guys get away with it, the boluses finding comfortable places under real muscle, but most Synthol additions look downright ugly. And ugly is supposed to be a negative in bodybuilding.
The IFBB only recently included Synthol on its list of banned substances, so the 2000 Mr Olympia contestants were thought to be given a pass this time around. Calves with pointy injection sites that look like bee stings, thought, should be marked down no matter what caused it. We know what does, however. Let's hope that, next time, the chumps with the lumps will be noticed by more then the fans, the press, and Shawn Ray."

I was looking back through the O pics, and both Flex's and Ronnie's calves don't contract or have the appearance of real muscle. If you have a mag with the back shots, compare Shawn's calves to the two, you can see a big difference. I think Flex had something done to his soleus, because it is non-existent in his earlier pics, but now dominates his lower leg.

Flex Wheeler....once my favourite bodybuilder. No more. He's totally ruined his physique. He went from the future mr.o just a couple of years ago, to a waterladen ball of oil. Check out Flex mag's olympia pics, there's a pic of him and I think kevin and shawn or maybe ronnie, in a side turn comparison. Look at those tumourish lumps coming out of flex's shoulders. And his calves look like slabs of blubber. Add that with the fact that he for some reason has decided to leave the extra 10lbs on himself for contests that he used to diet off in the past, and u have someone who is no longer even an olympia threat. Ronnie will reign till he retires. Cormier is young enough that he'll just wait ronnie out and take it once he's gone. Flex "synthol" Wheeler needs to get it together.
