I noticed that a message on the most recent "DEX" thread, that Bart Martin (whom I met on EF 8 months ago) made a post, about an hour ago. Then I realized the ENTIRE "DEX" THREAD was (once again) deleted -- or archived, or whatever 5 minutes later -- there's no excuse in my opinion. I even saved it, because I wanted to use it as a base for a testimonial to another brother. Here it is, in full, posted around midnight CST: ---------------- From BartMart: This will be my first posting to the board as a registered participant, but I have a fairly good acquaintance with the board having "lurked" for a while now. What has urged me finally to join is the chance to support Dexter's bid for Mod. I've read most of the posts in this thread, and I gather the matter still hasn't been decided yet. Even though no one here knows me yet, I'll testify to Dexter's character. I've gotten to know him through our one-on-one email correspondence, and I must say I was struck from the beginning by his intelligence and honesty. What I know of Dexter, he has it in abundance. -------------- Man, this really, really, fundamentally, basically sucks. I want this bloody thread back, at least until Monday evening NY time, whether or not some technician has to come in off-duty and restore it. OK. I've remained with my "glitch" theory for long enough. I'm giving it up now. There's no way each of the "Dex/Mod" posts get eaten by the glitch bug. If someone is deleting them, can you tell us why? Atleast email me so I'm not in the blue here, I can keep a secret | ||

I for one can tell you that no matter who the mods are this is going to be a problem. What George needs to do is revoke all mod privleges for a few days and see if any posts get deleted. If they do then we know it's a hacker. I wouldn't be surprised if it's DEX deleting all the posts! LOL Just kidding. I'm all for you being a mod DEX. ------------------ | ||

Dear brothers, sisters: I would like to add to el cubano's suggestion and suggest that ALL mod passwords be changed. I had an interesting conversation with Infopop, the company that licenses The Ultimate Bulletin Board (EF uses UBB). I like UBB. Have been seriously considering using it myself. UBB has very powerful capabilities, one of them being that the Admin can learn which moderator deleted which thread or post. The Search engine is entirely different and the program does not archive by itself. I won't begin to let you know how many problems there are with UBB right out of the box. It is very possible that there is a glitch in UBB, but I agree mods should change their passwords. Hey Dex, I work in I.T. too, and i too agree that the same subject/user being deleted 3 times is a bit more out of probability than a "glitch". BUMP for dexter. CY. | ||
