Spunky, What ever happened with the head pains you posted about back in November? I got the same pain in the back of my head last week when doing leg presses. I did a search for headaches and legs and I found your old post. Did the pains ever go away? Any advice from your experience? Thanks.

Are you currently on a cycle? I took some time off, about a week and they faded.. but If I don't warm up properly and start lifting hard as soon as I get into the gym I'll get some head pains again, but not as bad as before. I think it was caused by my blood pressure going too high, too fast. If I warm up slowly, jump rope or something for a few minutes im fine.. The doctor didn't find anything in the cat scan. I think it was just the high dosage of test.

Thanks for the quick reply Spunky. To answer your question, I just ended my cycle, so I'm planning to take a little time off now anyway. I also went to my doc and he said that there is a muscle that attached to the pack of your head and runs down into your traps. he said that even though I was working legs, the tension and pressure in the neck is so great that if you lift your head up or move your neck it is possible to strain this muscle. The funny thing is that I do leg presses because I didn't want to hurt my back with squats, but if I'd done squats, he said there was less chance that I could have moved my head to pull this muscle. Anyway, he gave me some flexoril(sp?) which seemed to help, but it is definitely slow going. I guess I'll just have to do alot of warm ups like you say. I'm supposed to train legs tomorrow (first time since the pain), but I'm not sure what to do.

Someone also told me that was one possible problem. I don't think that was it in my case however... it only happened if I strained hard and did something to raise my BP really fast.. good luck with it bro! take some time off, it should get better.

Thanks for the help, bro. I'll take the next week off and then maybe try to start back with lighter weights and see how I do. |
