About Us:
Caliber Design (Elite's Parent) is a boutique ecommerce agency specializing in providing mail order telephone order (MOTO) companies with the technology to unite their call center's order taking and customer service functions with a web storefront. We have developed a patent pending ecommerce application that unifies a company's call center, web storefront, distribution center, and inventory databases.

The web storefront and MOTO operations are fully integrated, meaning the inventory data, customer data, and transaction data are all available through a simple web interface. To access this interface requires only a standard web browser and an Internet connection. Title: Senior Web Application Developer

Description: We want you to grow your skills and join us in advancing the state of the art in e-commerce tools. With Perl and SQL as your tools, you'll be writing data mining applications with a web interface, adding new shopping features, optimizing code paths and developing new traffic-generating programs. You are welcome to work from home on all occasions except when there are meetings or presentations. The original author of the CRM application will be available via an instant messenger service and phone to answer questions about the code.

You will be a key player on a small team with strong growth potential and IPO/Acquisition ambitions. We have no boring projects to give you. Your code will be deployed and people will use it and depend on it. We offer flexible hours, the ability to work from home, a complete benefits package, a highly competitive salary based on experience and ability, and a generous Stock Options program.

The three initial projects are:

Port our CRM application from the Intershop 3 platform to the Intershop 4 platform
Turn the collection of extensions and additions to the database schema that make up our CRM application into an Intershop cartridge by using the CDK (Cartridge Development Kit). This will allow the cartridge to be "Shrink Wrapped" and sold.
Separate the CRM application from Intershop by enabling it to work with other ecommerce systems including one you will develop.
Personal: Geeks welcome. Highly motivated, detail oriented, insightful, independent thinker who can function in a team. The ability to multitask is a must. The desire to help the company work toward the profitable acquisition of a patent pending technology is important.

Technical Skills: This position requires exceptional Perl and Web application development skills. Intershop experience is highly desirable. Be able to write readable code. It would be helpful (but not required) to have a working knowledge of SQL and experience with version control (e.g. CVS).

Bonus Skills: Candidates with the following skills get bonus points: database schema design, Solaris, Apache, Linux, database administration, shell scripting, makefile writing, web graphics, XML, XSL.
