I think I may have an abcess. Not sure though because it is NOT located at the injection site. I inject in my glute, but the bump appears roughly around were you would inject in your thigh. Need help...I know see a doc, but I want to know now!

If the bump isn't at the injection site, then it can't be an absess. Absesses are caused from contaminated gear, contaminated needles, not cleaning the injection site properly, etc. From bacteria multiplying basically, forming a pussy bubble in your muscle. The bump on your thigh has nothing to do with your injection into your glute, it could be something else, like a boil or something. Go get it checked, but it's is definately not an absess.

Keep it Beefy is pretty much correct, except if the gear was contaminated and not the pin, the abcess could occur on or around the injection site. Go see your MD tomorrow and get it sorted out. Its nothing to fuck with. ------------------

First time this has ever happened..I've been using for about six years. I was told by a friend who has used for almost 20years that it could be from conatminated gear and that the abcess has moved. I find this strange, but this is what i was told. If I had accedentally injected into a vien, could this be the root of the problem??

Not sure bro, Go to the DR. and let us know how it turns out tomorrow. You might want to put some hot compresses on the area tonight, just to see if it helps. ------------------

take a needle, jam it in the abcess and try to draw it out... or go see a doctor. ------------------

now I know you are kidding....right superstar?? Just go see the docter...maybe it's a cyst or soething. Highly doubt it has anything to do with injecting. By the way, does it hurt, or is the skin warm to the touch?

Skin is not warm, but hurts like shit when pressed.

It sounds extremely gross but I now a friend who had somethin like you are discribing and it turned out to be a huge zit! Seriously and it was caused by infected ingrown hair follicles. But get a doc to check this out immediately. ------------------

Does it feel like its deep in the muscle or more superficial, like under the skin? Take a heating pad or a hot washcloth and keep a warm compress on it a couple times a day. This should help.

Gear I'm currently using is Omadren in the glutes and winny in the delts (excellent gains so far BTW!). It feels like it's really deep under the skin, closer to the muscle. I hope it's just a zit, but doesn't seem like it.

Phreaky: Just remember that none of these guys are M.D.'s, and shouldn't be diagnosing you. Read this: http://www.elitefitness.com/ubb/Archives/Forum1/12-2000/038977.html Do what it says, and report back. Bjaarki ------------------ BECOME SOMEONE'S HERO!

Well haven't had a chance to see an MD yet...I know I'll go soon! Anyway the swelling has gone down quite a bit, but the area is now brused???

Hey, My training partner had one in his thigh and if you don't have a high temp, you don't have a abscess. Probably still should have it looked at, but you can rule out abscess unless you develop a temp. T

I had an infected abcess cut and drained. I started feeling pain on a Saturday, and by Wednesday I had to literally crawl into the doc's office. If you start to feel aching in your hip/knee/ankle joints then I would get worried. I don't know, the lump didn't appear on me until after my leg started throbbing. By the time I got to the doc's, I had a lump the size of a grapefruit. Hope everything is OK. D. |
