I have always heard MPB was carried by the grandfather on the mothers side - and that the gene can only be passed along thru females. In other words most likely you will end up looking like your mom's dad in terms of hair. Many people accept this, but the other day I heard something else - that this is an "old wives tale." Hair is carried by the Y chromosome which can be passed along only by males. Thereby your hair genetics will come from your father's side of the family. More than likely your hair will look like your fathers. This just roused my curiosity and I will look into this more.

Hmmm, I've read alot of bullshit on this subject and it has always indicated that male pattern baldness is on the X. It also doesn't necessarily have to be your grandpa, remember genes do not always have to be expressed. You'd also have to check out your uncles and cousin's on your mom's side, to truely determine if you're likely to be bald. Post your info bro, I'm curious.

My cousin in Bald as hell. His mother's father, had a full head of hair until he died in his 80's. His father is bald though, I think it is bullshit altogether. My brother has a high hairline like my uncle, and grandpa. My hairline is not high at all but the top is thinning all over. What the fuck!? ------------------ |
