Is it dangerous??, I dont want to use lasix so I thought that aldactone would be a good and safety choice. Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

Spironolactone (Aldactone) is a weaker diuretic/antihypertensive than lasix. Causes excretion of sodium and calcium while conserving potassium and hydrogen ions. It is more effective when used to treat hyperaldosteronism (excessive production of aldosterone by the adrenal gland in which the blood contains abnormally high levels of aldosterone. This causes rentention of sodium and the urinary loss of potassium.) So they would give aldactone to get rid of the sodium but hold on to the potassium. Avod salt substitutes and foods that contain high levels of potassium or sodium when you take it. It may make you photosensitive so be careful in a tanning bed. I take LASIX 40 mg as needed. Throw in a potassium, magnesium, and calcium supplement. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
