I was wondering if soreness after workouts, is a good indication to weather or not you have trained enough\not trained enough if you are not sore, and if the routine you do has stopped working for you if you are not sore anymore. Hope this makes sense, Thanks. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

i find that the longer i've worked out the more it takes to make me sore. but certain body parts always get sore like my legs, my chest and my traps. tri's, bi's, delts are hard to make sore for me. i don't think soreness is a reliable indication of wether u hit the muscles hard enough. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Gymbob to tell you the truth i get sore after every work out. I change my routine every 6 weeks because after 6 weeks of the same exercises i loose that sorness after workouts. I do this because when i feel soreness it makes my know im hitting my muscles hard. I dont like my muscles to get use to a certine exercises. It really depends on your body. Just lift hard and get big! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

To some extent. It is possible to grow without getting sore. Expecially if on gear. I would not work a body part while it is still sore. It could be an indication your diet is bad if you're sore all the time. After about 48 hours you should start to feel better. You should not feel sore after every workout, but I would expect soreness at some times during a typical training cycle. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I find I really enjoy the soreness post workout, especially the day or two afterwards. I always doubt the intensity of my workout if I don't feel somewhat sore after a lift. If the muscle grows from breakdown and soreness follows that, bring on the pain. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My back might be sore after working on my car for 2 hours, but that dosen't mean i have gotten the growth stimulation of deadlifts. Soreness is not an indicator of growth stimulation. -MO ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I get very sore if I do things with enough intensity, I use it as sort of a gauge. I have friends who never get sore regardless of the ammount or intensity of the workout. If I stop getting sore, I start changing up my routine. It has worked very well for me, I love to be sore, it lets me know I did my job well in the gym!! ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Bro, I am real pissed if I can walk the next day after a leg workout, or 3 days after for that matter, my opinion is that soreness for days after is a good indication, that the muscle has been hit properly. As one of the bro's was saying the hardest group to get pain in is the delts for me, I get the mega pump when working them in the gym, with lat raises to fininsh them, but 2 hours later and the next day there is nothing. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks for the input guys, traps and delts are the ones that i cant seem to get sore the day after, although sometimes when i have been training chest my front delts are slightly sore, maybe i dont do enough volume. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I like a little soreness post workout as long as I don't have difficulty getting on and off of the toilet. ------------------ "Faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death." ![]() ![]() ![]()

I thought a lot of soreness is overtraining? I once did 8 sets for bi's and tri's on the same day and I couldn't move my arm the next day!! [This message has been edited by winstrol69 (edited December 10, 2000).] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I think Spunky is exactly right. I like to feel good and sore for a few days after working a muscle group, and find that my legs, chest and traps always get sore - tris too - but I can't seem to burn my bis, delts or lats no matter what I do. Bis especially are hard as hell to get sore. But, yeah, I use muscle soreness as a rough indicator of whether or not I've hit 'em hard enough, and I'll work even harder next week if I wasn't satisfied with the results. It's pretty funny that, in this day and age, we know so little about delayed onset muscle soreness - what causes it, how useful it is, etc.. Seems pretty basic, so it's kinda wierd that it's still such a mystery. Be well, be happy, and lift heavy, brothers. Bjaarki ------------------ BECOME SOMEONE'S HERO! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
