is tis possible? Or do you have to be sore(meaning breakage of fibers) after a workout for your muscles to rebuild bigger and stronger.

The great IronMan mag had an extensive article on this a couple of months ago. THey stated that it appeared that if you were actually soar you got more out of the workout. Ill look for the article and post the issue and the page if i can find it..BTL1

sorry bro, being sore does NOT equal "breaking down of muscle fiber." buildup of lactic acid will also make the muscle sore. soreness does not equal growth. it is definetly an indication that you have worked the muscle.

What VALDEZ says is true. You don't need to be sore to grow. Mike H / VIKING OF THE NORTH.

As these guys said, yes, you need to break down muscle fiber to grow, and soreness is not an indication of growth stimulus. You will get less sore after time, despite the fat your body is capable of generating a greater workload, due to it's increased efficiency of waste managment and ATP breakdown and construction. -MO ------------------

Ya bro, what Valdez said is true, the soreness you are probably feeling is most likely coming from the build up of lactic acid and your bodies ineffeciency to handle that lactic acid. The more your muscles build up endurance the less sore you will become. The strength and size will come from the variance of your workouts, don't allow your muscle to adapt to a routine, constantly vary your workout and especially the amount of weight you use or reps if you are not capable of going up in weight, this will help you to grow much faster and EAT, EAT and EAT some more especially PROTEIN. |
