Hey bros,

I just received some bad news from my doctor. To give you a little history, I have been having dissy spells and neasueated for a while. Last Saturday, I woke up about 2:00 in the morning and the room was spinning so bad that I just fell to the floor. I managed to crawl to the bathroom where I puked up everything that my body could possible hold. Since then I have had a total of five more attacks, though not as severe. We are talking about severe cases of vertigo.

Anyway, I went to the emergency room, then saw my doctor and after a few test it was determined that I have something called "meneires disease" in the left ear. It is a condition the affects only about .04% of the population. The bad thing is that there is a good chance that I will be dealing with this for the rest of my life and the only thing that can be done is some medication to help control the neaseu. Nothing can be done for the vertigo, hearing loss or buzzing in my ear that is driving me crazy. Obviously this is going to screw up my training, but more importantly it will effect just about everything around me. I am not even supposed to drive a care because what happens if I have an attack while driving. This is some scary shit bro's! I will be going for a second opinon on Monday so wish me luck.

Sorry to hear that! Last year I went to 2 different doctors and my dentist because I was getting light headed and dizzy all the time. It lasted damn near all day. No spinning rooms though. After tons of blood work and tests they still did not find out what was wrong. It went away but who knows if it will return. It happened after I got my upper wisdom teeth out and I think they fucked up the nerves to me ears.

That's just horrible. I hope this doctor is wrong and that your second opinion turns out to be better. Hang in there, it always looks worse when you first find out about something like this but it never ends up being as bad as you thought it would. I'll be praying for you bro.

To say that nothing can be done for Meniere's disease isn't entirely accurate, which is good news for you. There is a whole branch of vestibular physical therapy devoted to treating Meniere's and related vestibular disorders. It is not a specialty of mine. If memory serves, there are techniques of habituation (helping you get used to it) and Hallpike maneuvers (another vestibular technique, not sure if it applies). That sucks bro, my heart goes out to you.

Sorry to hear bro, but listen up now..
There is a treatment for the buzzing in your ears and the dizziness. The only problem I know of is that the only place they give treatment for this is in Estonia. I suggest you mention this to your doc and let him find out about it, perhaps you could get 100% fith for fight again.
The best of luck to you Bro..

Found on the net - at http://www.megaheart.com/testimonials_frames.html. Good luck.

'Thank you so much for the recipes. They have been delicious! I especially liked the meal plan you sent me. I definitely will be ordering the cookbook. If you have
any others, I would appreciate receiving them. My children are slowly adjusting to the different tastes. (They are 6 and 4-1/2 years old. We also have a 5 month
old.) Thank you again for your help and the recipes. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to maintain a low-sodium diet. So far, I have not had any severe
attacks with my Meneires Disease since I have lowered my sodium.
Sincerely,
Sharon '

Hey, guy, it's a bitch to find out that you have a problem like Menieres Disease, but it isn't the end of the world, and it can be controlled, or at least minimized. I've been living with it for years. It can be controlled with medication, and sometimes diet can be a factor. You will probably get some medication to stop the vertigo when you have an attack. If it gets bad, you will be put on daily medication. The buzzing and hearing loss seems to come and go for me. Keeping sodium down seems to help, and I haven't been bothered by the tinitus for some time. The hearing loss is sometimes temporary. One good thing for me is that they put me on a daily diuretic to keep fluid from building up in the inner ear. Get your second opinion, and good luck. Just be sure to follow your doctor's directions, and ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS!! You can live with this and not be disabled (I'm doing it), but just like AS, you need to have the knowledge of what you are dealing with. You got the guts to get big, you got the guts to handle this too. Hang in there, friend.

Airtyme,

I thought about your post, and the "Sorry bro" answer didn't seem appropriate.

Please keep in mind these things:

1. Stay optimistic; optimism is an incredible force.

2. Think about medical technicology even 30 years ago.

3. Understand that medical technology is improving at phenomenal rates.

4. Get a second opinion.

Keep in mind this may not be something you will have to live with for the rest of your life.

I hate to hear these things, especially when they happen to such a good guy.

Definetly do as much research into this as possible, it's an inner ear thing correct?? I'll take a look around and see what i can find.

hope things work out
