Ok, after reading Huck's post it got me thinking about some stuff Ive read concerning the use of primrose oil to aid in the effects of PMS in women. My ex-girlfriend was real big into herbs and the like and used to swear by primrose during that time of the month, and I must say she was never untolerable. Ok, so Im wondering here, considering the roles that polyunsaturates play with androgens in the body, would it be feasable to assume that this would, or could be the reason why primrose may alleviate some of the symptoms of PMS for women? If anyone has any info on this I would like to see it, hell it may be more benificial than you know to many of the brothers on here if you catch my drift..heh..heh..heh.. Just thinking, ------------------

Quick question? So what I get out of it is that you think the Primrose works to rid the symptoms of PMS. Correct? If so than Primrose Would be taking the place or moving The Progesterone from the receptors"Keeping Progesterone at Bay". If this is what you mean I see no reason why it couldn't be so. But I have slight knowledge on this subject But Learning. I'm sure someone knows

Good question. I have a friend who uses it as well to help her avoid emotional swings. I see what you are getting at and I'll bump this for anyone who may know. ghans

WCP, I think that primrose oil is modifying prostaglandin production in this case, more than any hormonal alteration. The polyunsaturates have alot of research in this area, and the reduction in prostaglandins that cause uterine contractions, i.e. pain, would benefit mood just as much as hormone modification. I have not read any studies on the hormonal aspects of primrose oil.
