Similiar situation bro. School, lift, work, and eat is about it most of the time for me. It sucks sometimes watching everyone head out to party while I'm training or studying. Sometimes I feel I'm missing out but most the time I'm happy with my routine. Just keep focused on what's important to you and stay on that path. Good luck.

Don't close the door on other aspects of the life, don't become addict, everything should be balanced in life,we all want to be happy, and if you unhappy big or not is not gonna help! It's like diet, you can't go strict all the time, some days are days off!Don't be upset over it,just sit down and rethink your strategy, your plan, how to keep lifting, eating and sleeping but not making it the only goal and thing in your life, expend your horizontes, you know...
I hope that you guys understand what I'm talking about, that I'm on the same side of barricade as you're,and I think that changing approche to life sometimes helps not to get burned out and keep going and enjoing doing it,instead of stopping alltogether.BE STRONG IN YOUR MIND!

The path to perfection is a narrow and rocky one my bro.

Most who lead the bodybuilding lifestyle (by that I mean LIVE THE BB LIFESTYLE not just training and gear, have little time for anything.

It is because we are so dedicated that makes this one of the toughest things to do in life. You need to plan properly and work around your training if you want to maximise your 'free' time.

Draw up plans for everything. for example set aside an hour a day just for preparation of all your daily meals/supplements so that you are not constantly cooking each meal individually.

We share your pain though bro, I hardly have time to have a shit.

i think we have to realize that we do make scarifices and that they are worth it. there is a time for the gym and a time for going out. I see all my friends at school and they always get drunk. they are wasting away in my eyes. i have the dicipline to not drink, eat right and train hard, and that discipline is what employers want to see when i leave scool.

bouncer, dont worry, the majority of us are in the same boat. if you think that your life is down, listen to this, i havent had a sip of any alcohol in 5 months(i was chronic in the summer), and i have not gone out with my buddies in about 4 months, some of my best buds i havent even seen in months, yes, best buds. ive been trying to save up for going away to college in the fall , and im almost there, just a couple thousand to go, so im working the majority of the time.

anyways ive been hibernating trying to get big, i understand what you are going through, i get depressed sometimes, and become sad that my life sucks soo bad right now. but then i think about how great id feel after ive worked so hard into saving up for college by myself, then as a bonous have a great physique. i have been tuffing it out like this for a while, and everything should come into place by march. see thats when i have a trip to daytona beach florida planned with my friends. after that things will level off and i will be out hella!!!!.

dont worry about missing out sometimes; think about it this way: would you rather, get trashed with your friends, feel like shit in the morning, and be badly dehidrated, and slowing your gains, or staying in, getting a good night sleep and growing like a fucking weed?

but ya know, every man has his breaking point, and if you come to the point where you become depressed and start hating people and blaming things for you unhappiness(happend to me ), id say its ok to go out, and let hell loose. but to me building a great physique and working hard is priority to me right now so i will stay strong.

shit, if been rambling for too long, sorry dudes.

peace

Alright bouncer, seems to me that you have entirely
to much time to sit in front of your computer screen,
I have a day job, and work as the head bouncer of
a big nightclub, and I train like a muther fucker, if
you are to big then post the pic's if you got the bottle.
Stop complaining and get on with life, if you dont want
to train then dont, if your that diesil then you wont need to
train anyway, it is my feeling that if you are a squaddie,
then you will be doing entirely to much cardio, to be
of any size, post your pics man.

I know how you feel, true I travel in different circles than do you, brotha but it sucks just the same. I do compete and am a commercial fitness/swimwear model....I've also been married and have a few kids so if it isn't birthday parties or Easter (Could you imagine having a house FULL of candy and not being able to have one Cadbury caramel egg?) Then I have a household to run, homework to help with, school activities, WORK, bedtime stories, training, feeding my family AND myself.....oh, yea and a relationship w/my husband. I am always surrounded by SOMEBODY saying things like, "Do you HAVE to drink THAT much water ALL the time?" "You even go to the gym while you're on vacation?" "Come on, just ONE small piece of cake won't hurt!" Most of my family members (extended family) look at me like I have three heads.....how dare I care sooooooooo much about getting big ugly muscles when I should be more concerned with matching curtains and tablecloths?!" It's gotten to the point where I avoid MANY social functions unless they are mandatory when I am dieting. How rude is it to show up to someone's home and say, "Sorry, I can't eat that and No, I don't drink soda, EITHER."? 99% of the general population do NOT understand.

My girls, however, are EXTREMELY proud of me and I must say I feel very good when they point at the pictures of the models in the Victoria's Secret catalog and say, "Mommy, someone should give that girl a steak....she is waaaaaay too skinny!" My hubby though he does not compete also shares my passion for lifting and is quite supportive.

So as long as I am happy and my hubby and girls are proud.....it is all good!

Try this on for size. Im 30 yrs old, partner in an Investment firm, have a great wife and a 4 month old daughter and just built a giant house. Im on the road at least 8-10 days a month. However, I train at least 4 days a week, continue to make gains, spend quality time with my family and am very happy. In the last 2 years I went from being 215lbs and a 36" inch waist to 195 and 31" waist Im strong as a MTF ox and am cut. So from what Im hearing, none of you have it that bad!!!

"people often ask, your so successful, good looking and big, how do you do it? My reply, just by being me!"

Well bro...I feel you. Sooner or later Love will come along and it will be the completion to your puzzle. You will meet a person who truly completes you...Even when you are away from each other...they are still with you in your heart. Everytime you close your eyes you can feel a gentle breeze blowing on your neck and you imagine it is them. Everything you hold dear...training, etc.,...will be dear to them also. It is not about houses, cars, or money, but about you being happy and content with your self, Iron Bro...

Guys no time for sulking and complaining, if u want to be fuckin jacked then lift, if u want to be a little skinny nerd, than give up that dedication and hard work. You guys may just be complaining because its the winter, just wait till the summer when you can go to the beach and show off your hard work and training. you will feel much better guaranteed. peace

An even bigger test is when you're injured and can't really lift but you still get to sleep on time, do the best you can in the gym, and keep your diet because you want to lose a minimum of your gains...

For the most part I agree W69....even w/all of the obligations in my life OUTSIDE the gym I have to maintain a very flexible schedule...when you have children that's just a fact of life. A missed workout here or there is not going to make much of a difference. Hell I LIVE for the lay-offs after several weeks of intense training! Unless of course you are close to a show. I don't know how any of the rest of you are, but the week before a competition I am too tired and weak to do much of anything other than contest prep and take care of my girls.

there is nothing wrong with being dedicated to something as most of us are or we wouldn't be here, but you have to live your life also. if your a competitive bb then this is your life and job, but if your not competing then missing a workout will not kill you, at 265 you wont even notice it and neither will anybody else.i usd to feel such guilt when i couldn't make the gym, but the gym isn't paying my mortgage, or the insurance on my cars.
i love bobybuilding, but i am never going to compete, so i learned a while ago that the two worlds can coincide with each other as long as i lose the guilt. nothing and i mean nothing should consume 100% of your life, because if you lose that one thing your left with nothing. if you need more time then alter your training schedule. put an extra day off in there for yourself. i was working out 6 days a week, i only work out 4 days a week now and my body is better then ever.that leaves me time for me. thats just my opinion, i am not saying that it's right for everyone, but don't knock it till you try it.......peace
