I agree 100% that source posting or asking for sources should NOT be tolerated here in any way, shape or form....This is extremely important to ensuring the future of the board...However, consider this scenario....this pertains to all the "mundane, simplistic" Newbie questions as well...someone relatively unfamiliar to the etiquette of boards such as this just happens to stumble across E.F....this is a fantastic board for info. and proves to be an extremely important resource for many...so naturally the relatively inexperienced web surfer excitedly creates an account....there is nothing that outwardly jumps out at you and BOLDLY says "NO SOURCE POSTING", "NO ASKING FOR SOURCES" or nothing that explains why one should search first and avoid simple BROAD questions....this newcomer is just totally jazzed that he found a community to fire off questions....then the inevitable happens...he/she is flamed into oblivion, and oftentimes is left with a bad taste in their mouth for E.F. Then time is wasted and frustration and anger occurs from everyone on the board to either pound the newbie into dust for posting such a ridiculous question...or numerous posts to Mods must be made to "DELETE THIS POST", which has got to get annoying as hell after awhile for the mods (albeit necessary)....If one is fairly new to the internet..or even to the world of anabolics....they most likely are simply NOT going to know any better without a quick, clear BOLD warning as to board etiquette....Now before I get flamed and baked for supposedly "sticking up for Newbies"..just remember, all of us were pretty much clueless at one time, no matter how long ago it was..I just believe there is way too much time wasted with angry flaming...and guys getting pissed as hell at broad redundant Newbie questions...I agree it can get annoying...it drives good posts down etc...and if it continued after being warned..then by all means..flame away. I'm just trying to suggest a solution to it all...cause it'll never stop...the Newbie post as it is now is great...very well written...however, something must be done to make it, and especially the important aforementioned points JUMP OUT at the newbie before they start posting away....it'll save everyone a bunch of unneeded frustration in the long run....plus, who knows, that Newbie who posted the "dumb broad" question "Whats the best way to take D-bol..or How many Anadrol to take...How do I inject" may just end up doing something to hurt themselves...if only upon clicking onto this board..they IMMEDIATELY were told of the search....and the wealth of information that lay one click away....Remember, I'm not justifying harmful or redundant Newbie posts....just trying to make suggestions that will make the board better for all.... Sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe make it part of the registration process, or make it so that the first time they post they are taken to the newbie letter. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thoughtful post bro. I agree there's a lot of needless flaming for redundant questions that are asked. It's hard to remember we all started somewhere. As far as source posting I think the flaming is necessary. To protect from someone getting scammed and more importantly from this board being shutdown. A lot of this could be avoided if we but a permanent link for newcomers up top. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

People should take a little time to get to know people on the board, and in doing so will figure out the rules anyway. If somebody just jumps in asking for a source they're asking for it... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I wholeheartedly agree with you on the source posting Slabcat...that should not be tolerated! I simply mean every Newbie should be smacked in the face with all these warnings as SOON as they register....thanks for the feedback... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good points Drezz Ive been bumpin that damn newbie post all day. Its not their fault, not all of them anyway. It should be presented to them when they get here. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]()

I agree Timac..flaming is all part of the game..and yes, at times it is entirely justifieable and funny (sphincter injection)..you have to have a tough skin to survive..but not everyone does..I just think sometimes even the flaming of broad Newbie questions gets old and may end up being counterproductive in the long run....especially if some idiot decides to jab a pin into their sciatic or femoral nerve because after being flamed they just said "F%$ck it" and jabbed away...if the search was emphasized...they would find TONS of injection info....just an example.... Hey Thaibox - nice quote....are you a S.E.A.L.??? [This message has been edited by Drizzt8 (edited December 07, 2000).] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Drizz, Im not a SEAL. Im a med wash out. So Im just a wannabe now. But Ive got a lot of buddies in the teams, so the mentality stays around me. I'm appealing my med through VA, and gonna go through Ranger school next year. Yes I do get way too much shit from my frog buddies for that decision. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]()

if you notice that i am only an amateur bodybuilder, but ive been a member since jan00, which means i searched a lot and read a lot before i post questions which i knew have not yet been asked. all newbies should try it too, and they will not get flamed. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
