I PERSONALLY LIKE THE TRIANGLE BAR A LOT BETTER. YOU ARE CENTERED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEIGHT AND DONT TEND TO LEAN FORWARD AS MUCH WHEN USING IT...ZEUS13

I only see the ladies at my gym use the triangle bar, but I suppose if you're lifting the weight it doesn't matter what kind of bar it is. . .I prefer straight bar regular deads, some of my friends do sumo, some only do straight leg (diff exercise), it is really a personal preference issue. I think if you hit the heavy weight your body doesn't really know what kind of bar your using. It may lower stress on the back, but if that's the case it is infact a different exercise in mechanics and form.

Triangle bar? Are you talking about the trap bar (www.gerardtrapbar.com)? If so, it isn't better or worse than a straight bar. It is a totally different exercise. Most people consider that closer to a squat than a deadlift with a stright bar. It will work your quads more and your lower back less than deadlifts with a regular bar would.

I hope that helps...

If you have problems squating because your legs are too long in proportion with your torso, then the trap bar deadlift will hit your quads more.
It isnt a variation of the deadlift, it is a variation of the squat.

Agreed. Even the switch of hand position causes a whole different muscle group to be hit. You definetely dont have any tension on the rear trap or any of the back, with the exeption of the top of the trap reigon, if you want to consider that part of the back.
